Cardinal Kasper Must Be Declared Heretic And Banished From The Bosom Of The Church
Excellent post from the “better Archbold” on NCR. (Quick! Read the article before the NCR censors it again!).
Below is, taken from the article, an excerpt from Leo XIII’s Satis cognitum:
The Church, founded on these principles and mindful of her office, has done nothing withgreater zeal and endeavour than she has displayed in guarding the integrity of the faith. Hence she regarded as rebels and expelled from the ranks of her children all who held beliefs on any point of doctrine different from her own. The Arians, the Montanists, the Novatians, the Quartodecimans, the Eutychians, did not certainly reject all Catholic doctrine: they abandoned only a tertian portion of it. Still who does not know that they were declared heretics and banished from the bosom of the Church? In like manner were condemned all authors of heretical tenets who followed them in subsequent ages. “There can be nothing more dangerous than those heretics who admit nearly the whole cycle of doctrine, and yet by one word, as with a drop of poison, infect the real and simple faith taught by our Lord and handed down by Apostolic tradition” (Auctor Tract. de Fide Orthodoxa contra Arianos).
The practice of the Church has always been the same, as is shown by the unanimous teaching of the Fathers, who were wont to hold as outside Catholic communion, and alien to the Church, whoever would recede in the least degree from any point of doctrine proposed by her authoritative Magisterium.

You certainly seem to have a point here, Mundabor.
The ‘problem’, if it is one, is if we strictly follow what Pope Leo XIII proclaimed here, it isn’t just Cardinal Kasper who has to go, but probably almost everybody else as well, up to and including Joseph Ratzinger. Remember, just one heterodox point on one point of doctrine – that’s it. I would say on the subject of the Jews alone, almost the entire hierarchy is a goner. And that includes the current and previous several popes.
I am happy with Kasper and his, that is: the extreme cases. In order to enforce orthodoxy the way you mention one would need a strong and strongly orthodox Pope; one who would keep everyone in line. In order to force Kasper to retract or be sanctioned much less would be necessary; and if the push came to shove, I can easily imagine the Jesuit pope would say he never agreed with all that, and was the victim of gossip.

Agree with Sid here, Mundy. If we are to follow Pope Leo’s words (fine and true that the are) then JPII and Benedict would absolutely fall into that category. I find it ironic that Pat Archibold writes about the dark Church on a blog that promotes JPII…a Pope who promoted all the errors of V2…was a modernist himself (just not a liberal one). Heck, the reason he chose his name “John” and “Paul” were to continue to promote V2 via the Pope’s who started and completed it. Neo-Catholics have to wake up to the reality that their beloved “John Paul the Great” was one of the main instruments of the destruction in the Church. Once THAT truth is finally accepted and we work at getting rid of his supposed “sainthood” then I will breath a sigh a relief. Don’t get me wrong, I want JPII in heaven…I just don’t want his modernist neo-catholicsm/church of man promoted and sainted. God bless~
