Boots, the Porn Chemist’s

And it came to pass that your humble correspondent, afflicted by cough and catarrh, walked to what is for most the standard purveyor of medicinal products in the land: Boot’s.

Randomly searching for my chosen product, I see a big section called “Sexual Wellbeing”. It’s not in a corner, or where it will only be noticed by those who already know what they want. No, it’s truly, as they say, “in your face”.

A small selection of vibrators is on display.

I don’t think I am particularly innocent, but frankly it was a shock. It was the same as if I had discovered that Waitrose sells porn in the DVD section. Please understand Boot’s in this country is the standard choice, where every mother would go with her little daughter without thinking twice. As I write, I can’t even tell you the name of one competitor…

  1. Off topic: Mundo, could you please re-blog or send the link for the very humorous blog you wrote about a woman eating chocolates? I have searched but was unable to locate it and would like to share it with a friend.

  2. Here in the USA I order all kinds of vitamins at Vitacost.com, an excellent and cost-effective website, fast and reliable. I believe they also mail abroad, so you may try that. Of course, I realize you need these medicines right away, so it may not work this time, but please, check them out. Hope you feel better!

    God bless!

    • That was a reblog, so yes I am now very fine.. 😉

I was looking more for UK alternatives, as the sending of medicaments the other side of the Pond has mail costs and possibly legal issues I would like to avoid.

Llloyd’s Pharmacy turned out to be a sound alternative. For now.

    Dear M,
So did you do your duty and complain to the manager and/or call the HQ? We’ve done this here in America with big chains regarding indecent magazines, and gotten them to stuff them away out of sight. Also participated in a Walmart boycott for the same reason, and they backed down to keep their family image intact. Donahue of the Catholic League tackles things like this often.

    • I do not talk of the traces I leave on the Internet, as if I have complained I have obviously complained with my name and address.
If I have complained, I have done something similar to what you are saying.

      Dear M.
Very understandable. We experienced some temporary amnesia about your on-line anonymity. Old age and all….. -) 🙂

  4. Pharmacy is just one of many professions that Catholics and others who abide by the Natural Moral Law may no longer practice. These many professions are controlled by primary or secondary legislation, and one must practise certain intrinsic evils to get or keep one’s licence/registration, required to practise the profession. A most effective and prevalent means of corrupting people en masse, whilst persecuting, disempowering and excluding those who comply with the moral law, and the Commandments of Our Lord and Saviour. Blessed Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle . . .
