Oh, the political incorrectness!

Oh, the Islamophobia!

Oh, the… truth!

  1. Compare and contrast:

“I pray, too, for the Muslim communities in France, and here in England, that they may not be victimized because of the actions of these violent and ruthless extremists, but strive always for the way of peace and cooperation with the wider society.”
    (Cardinal Vincent Nichols)

“Our sufferings today are the prelude of those you, Europeans and Western Christians, will also suffer in the near future. Please, try to understand us. Your liberal and democratic principles are worth nothing here. You must consider again our reality in the Middle East, because you are welcoming in your countries an ever growing number of Muslims. Also you are in danger. You must take strong and courageous decisions, even at the cost of contradicting your principles. You think all men are equal, but that is not true: Islam does not say that all men are equal. Your values are not their values. If you do not understand this soon enough, you will become the victims of the enemy you have welcomed in your home.”
(Chaldean Archbishop of Mosul, Amel Nona)

  2. Man should have been made pope.

  3. I followed a link within a comment on Fr. Z’s site. It led to more context about the above video. The archbishop spoke common sense, and he was tried for racism. He won, but still was fined.

  4. Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre is certainly one of my greatest heroes. I was lucky enough to meet him on two occasions. His speaking was always this clear. He did not believe he had time to make soft speeches, but focused on the problems at hand. I pray he is enjoying his reward, and praying for us!

  5. Fr. Z says that he doesn’t agree with everything that Archbishop Lefebvre said, but I think that Fr. Z would disagree with nearly everything that the Archbishop stood for. After all, Fr. Z believes that JP ll should be made a doctor of the Church. That pretty much tells us where Fr. Z stands. He’s not a trad. Where was Fr. Z when Archbishop Lefebvre stood up before the Vll Council to try to talk sense into the other council Fathers, and Pope Paul Vl? Archbishop Lefebvre was right about nearly every concern that he voiced. Fr. Z is just now coming around to seeing reality. And then only some of it.

    • Father Z is a liturgical “traditionalist”, but very much planted in the V II world. A “Trad light”, if you prefer.
Still, I wish we had 1,000 of him.

  6. Thanks for your comment, Mundabor. I’ll guess we’ll have to disagree about Fr. Z (and a few other so-called “traditional” liturgical priests), since the problems in the Church go way beyond issues of a liturgical nature. The Anglican convert-priests can’t really see the bigger picture, obviously.

Anyway, in the wake of horror of the Islamic attacks on Paris, do you think it’s possible that God is allowing these sorts of attacks in the West to occur (by His permissive will), due to the West’s rejection of Christ? I understand that part of the problem is due to mass immigration of Muslims to Europe, but if Europe were still thoroughly Christian (Catholic), would these Muslims really want to live in Europe? In a truly Catholic culture (which does not reject Christ) the Muslims would not have so many benefits in Europe.

The Catholic Church no longer has armies to keep the Muslims in check. If not for the Church in centuries past, Islam would have invaded and taken over Europe long ago. Spain, of course, bore the brunt of suppression by Islam, but eventually the Muslims were booted out. The secular European leaders can try to boot out the Muslims, but as they do not believe in God, then God will not necessarily be on their side.

We can pray and offer sacrifice for the end of the Islamic scourge against Europe, and hope that God will listen. I can’t think of anything else that will help.

    • Oh, I am *absolutely sure* God is punishing us with the Muslim fanatics to let us pay the price of our insolence.
The grandchildren of those who preached inclusion will be raped and murdered by the descendants of those they wanted to include. The sins of the fathers are always visited upon the sons.
