What I thought of Justice Roberts was unprintable already, at since since Obamacare times. But I would say that with his decision to side with the liberals (yes, this includes RBG; apparently she is still breathing) on church closures he has reached a new low.
I see in Roberts one of the victims of modern times: the spineless manlet who drifts to liberal positions because he thinks it is the only way to keep his social prestige in the circle in which he is accustomed to move. he will bend over backwards (as seen with his Obamacare decision) to not do what would make him sink in the black list of the party hosts, movers and shakers, and otherwise soi-disant intellectuals of his milieu. The appointment of Gorsuch and, more importantly, Kavanaugh put on him the liberal pressure; as always, the man cannot bear it.
Decisions like this also tell us why the Supreme Court is still such an important part of the 2020 November election, and why it is absolutely vital that both Trump’s re-election and a solid Republican majority in the Senate are returned in November. There is still a lot of work to do, and when RBG goes wherever the Lord has decreed she will go (psss… I think I have an idea.. but don’t say it around…) there is another epic battle to be fought and hopefully won.
Trump and a solid Republican majority are, bar surprises, our only hope to see the United States veer towards sanity at the highest judicial level, too. As in 2016, this makes Trump’s twitter behaviour, press conference intemperance (though I think he was wonderful), or otherwise testy character utterly irrelevant.
Let us focus on what counts, rather than on sideshows of no consequence.
The recent decision of the Court is a sobering reminder of how fast it can go the wrong way.
The Pittsburgh Diocese is going from 152 parishes to 106 in one go. It’s the usual story of slow death and decrepitude. No link, because evil publication.
My first reflection: what about starting to consolidate Dioceses instead? With all that they cost in personnel, PR, press office, and assorted people running around their corridors, perhaps this could be a good example?
Say: every Diocese which has lost 25% of the parishes it had 20 years ago will be merged with another one. The bishops in surplus will go back to being useful (one wonders if they ever were) and work as parish priests (one wonders if they ever did). If this plan were to be implemented, it’s not unlikely that the number of dioceses in the US would be cut in half, with great savings that could then be used for things like, say, restoring churches to their pre-VII splendor, start celebrating Tridentine Masses in them, and see how that goes.
The second reflection is that the Virus will, obviously, accelerate the trend of the live Mass on streaming. After the US Bishops have told their faithful that Mass is something they go to only if absolutely 100% safe, you can be assured that the slightest hint of the beginning of a cold will be used to decide that one does not have to attend; this, whilst the televised/streamed Tridentine masses of the Traditionalist orders keep increasing the number of viewers. No, the live streaming does not satisfy the Sunday Mass obligation. But hey, if I might have a cold? How can I condemn the 96 year old I am sure I will have sitting near me to an “early” grave? Has the Bishop not told us all that safety comes first?
The US Bishops, and not only them, have hoisted a petard under their own cathedra. They have told us that Mass is basically superfluous. If even the Mass is superfluous, how useless are they? And if the idea starts to spread that a very bad Mass does not have to be attended, how will the Bishops prevent the rapid increase of Tridentine Mass attendance via streaming? That is like the Internet: universally present, easily accessible, and basically unstoppable.
Prohibit your own Traditional Orders from streaming their Mass, and the SSPX will get this cake all for themselves! Voris will be so savage, he will eat his new platinum wig!!
We might be about to live interesting years…
Yours truly has decided to make a mini-study. The provisional results are published below.
The study consisted in the observation of a couple of hundred Brits, outside in the wild on a sunny afternoon.
The idea is that those who are really worried *will wear a mask*, and those who do not wear a mask *aren’t really fazed*. Note to you living abroad: there is no obligation to wear a mask in England.
The extremely scientific methodology ( = counting) resulted in a very scientific “range”; because this is what you do nowadays.
Between 2 and 3 percent of those sampled wore a mask. All the others really didn’t care. A cold, a suspected flu, or extreme ugliness might also have been a factor in the decision to wear a mask.
Peer review is currently ongoing, as my cat is looking at the data.
The conclusion is obvious: the Country at large does not care a dried fig for this hysteria, and it copes with it merely because, these parts, most people keep working, and earning, as usual. But if they were free to talk without being accused of wanting to kill Grandma Louise they would, when asked about all this, say “utter rubbish”.
The study will be published on Lancet soon, because they have published far less accurate studies already.
I am very proud of my contribution to the scientific community.
From now on, this will be “settled science”.
Thanks to Thomas Burk, I have received this wonderful link showing, cough, The Resistance; but, this time, from the bench. I will quote it in its entirety because it is, besides being very informative, also quite funny. Emphases mine:
“Before I rule, I’m advising everybody in this room, no public outbursts or displays. The court is still in session until you are told otherwise.
Since the inception of this insanity, the following regulations, rules or consequences have occurred: I won’t get COVID if I get an abortion but I will get COVID if I get a colonoscopy. Selling pot is essential but selling goods and services at a family- owned business is not. Pot wasn’t even legal and pot dispensaries didn’t even exist in this state until five months ago and, in that five months, they have become essential but a family-owned business in existence for five generations is not.
A family of six can pile in their car and drive to Carlyle Lake without contracting COVID but, if they all get in the same boat, they will. We are told that kids rarely contract the virus and sunlight kills it, but summer youth programs, sports programs are cancelled. Four people can drive to the golf course and not get COVID but, if they play in a foursome, they will. If I go to Walmart, I won’t get COVID but, if I go to church, I will. Murderers are released from custody while small business owners are threatened with arrest if they have the audacity to attempt to feed their families.
These are just a few of examples of rules, regulations and consequences that are arbitrary, capricious, and completely devoid of anything even remotely approaching common sense.
State’s attorneys in this state, county sheriffs, mayors, city councils and county boards have openly and publicly defied these orders followed by threats to withhold funding and revocation of necessary licenses and certifications unless you obey.
Our economy is shut down because of a flu virus with a 98 percent plus survival rate. Doctors and experts say different things weekly. The defendant cites models in his opposition. The only thing experts will agree on is that all models are wrong and some are useful. The Centers for Disease Control now says the virus is not easily spread on surfaces.
The defendant in this case orders you to stay home and pronounces that, if you leave the state, you are putting people in danger, but his family members traveled to Florida and Wisconsin because he deems such travel essential. One initial rationale why the rules don’t apply to him is that his family farm had animals that needed fed. Try selling that argument to farmers who have had to slaughter their herds because of disruption in the supply chain.
When laws do not apply to those who make them, people are not being governed, they are being ruled. Make no mistake, these executive orders are not laws. They are royal decrees. Illinois citizens are not being governed, they are being ruled. The last time I checked Illinois citizens are also Americans and Americans don’t get ruled. The last time a monarch tried to rule Americans, a shot was fired that was heard around the world. That day led to the birth of a nation consensually governed based upon a document which ensures that on this day in this, any American courtroom tyrannical despotism will always lose and liberty, freedom and the constitution will always win.”
Well, this made my day. It is a condensed exposition of the modern madness that has become the “permanent emergency” craze. In the US, this is driven by the Anti-Trump brigades, hoping that the misery will work against Trump in November. Elsewhere, it is simply lack of manliness, as millions of adult males accept to be kept at a very short leash by a nanny-mentality that can only emerge in a Country that thinks hat there is nothing wrong with being, as they say, gay.
Italy is now requesting the “services” of thousands of Karens to snitch on their own neighbours. This is nothing to do with Trump. This is the result of living near the petticoat of one’s mother for too long.
When people are being ruled, instead of governed, they need to share a part of the blame, too.
This is, apparently, what a “working group” for the Church in Scotland thinks.
It beggars belief.
People went to Mass during the Black Plague, during the world wars. They went to Mass under the bombs. They went to Mass in churches that had no roof, in the bitter cold. Now this bunch of girls want to be exempted from work until they are totally and completely assured that they are safe? They are stating it very clearly. At some point, they will make them reopen the churches. But work? Thanks, but no, thanks.
Please don’t tell me that it is to protect the faithful. Have they asked the faithful?
I think I will develop a very strong allergy to donations to the NO Church.
Then I will say that I will be glad to resume my donations, when a vaccine against my allergy is found.
This, I would say, is for everybody’s safety.
My allergy is very infectious, you know.
I could not believe my eyes when I saw the video above and (in case you can’t play the video) Father Martina in the same screen as the “Fox News” writing.
Let us leave aside for the moment the fact that the people of Satan will take the side of Satan. The issue I have today is with those who give them a platform.
Why on earth is Fox News interviewing this effeminate tool in the first place?
I would understand if MSNBC would do the same; but still after their liberal drift, Fox is supposed to represent (and still get their money from) a certain mindset, opposed to fake Catholicism, effeminacy, and monstrous deformation of Catholicism.
A liberal news outlet might think that this man (I am being generous here), having some official function within the Church, can speak for Her. But the likes of Fox News must know that this man cannot speak for Catholicism, whatever his official rank, and should have looked elsewhere for their interviewing needs.
Millions of people, out there, are either generically Catholic or non-Catholic Christians: is this face the one that Fax wants to present to them as speaking for Catholicism? have they done their research, even one bit, before inviting him? Why have they not looked for one of the thousands alternatives to present a different angle, from a local parish priest to a bishop to anybody else who is not this guy?
This, millions of casual lookers and generic Christians look at this and think that Catholics are, by and large, against the reopening of their churches. They also think that their average testosterone content have gone down dramatically in recent decades.
Fox, wake up.
This guy represents Catholicism like he represents manliness.
You should know better.
Finally, finally, FINALLY, some Bishops remember that they are our shepherds, and start acting as Catholics.
The Bishops of Minnesota have decided to defy the orders of the local authorities and allow masses with attendance limited to one third of the usual capacity, rather than the absurd 10 people limit of their own earthly masters.
The quote below is such common sense that it should not have needed to be written, ever:
“It is now permissible for an unspecified number of people to go to shopping malls and enter stores, so long as no more than 50 percent of the occupancy capacity is reached. Big-box stores have hundreds of people inside at any one time, and the number of goods that are being handled and distributed in one store by many people—stock staff, customers, cashiers—is astounding. Workers are present for many hours per day, often in close proximity. There is no state mandate that customers wear masks in those malls or stores, wash their hands consistently, or follow any specific cleaning protocol,” the bishops wrote.
“An order that sweeps so broadly that it prohibits, for example, a gathering of 11 people in a Cathedral with a seating capacity of several thousand defies reason”
“In these circumstances, and given the well-researched protocols that we have proposed (and that are being followed successfully elsewhere in our nation) how can reason require us any longer to keep our faithful from the Eucharist?”
“full emergency until we are sure that no one dies E.V.E.R. A.G.A.I.N.!!!
And it came to pass that yours truly, like everyone living in England (other parts of the UK are still in lockdown, at least officially), was able to actually get out, jump on his car and have a stroll where he pleases without fear of being harassed by the police.
Amazing, how easily freedom can be lost in the short term; but.. can it?
Amazing, too, how resilient people are, and how unwilling to be brainwashed by the Technodictatorship supported by cowardly Politicians.
You look around you, and you see a couple of interesting things.
- People really have had enough. Traffic is, if not normal, certainly approaching normality at least outside of rush hours. There are a lot people clearly strolling around merely in order to be strolling around.
- There is no trace of enforcement. I have seen, pretty much everywhere, people gathering in violation of the social distancing rules. I commend their behaviour. Mind, they seem to steer clear of people they don’t know. But among groups of friends, it’s business as usual at least on the street (try to find a decent pub for seating!).
- Only a minority of people wear masks. Perhaps it’s the warm weather, perhaps it’s how unpleasant they are to wear, perhaps it’s a reaction to the asphyxiating tyranny of the Nazi Nannies; but an awful, awful lot of people clearly do not want anything to do with masks, at least when on the street, buying groceries, etc.
- Those with the most refreshing behaviour are the youth. Groups of teenagers walking together at 8,10,12 at a time without any care for social distancing and not caring a straw for the police, it makes this old heart rejoice.
Suppressing liberties is not easy. Particularly so, when this comes together with widespread economic damage. People don’t give up elementary freedoms because some technocrat tell them so and the PM is too much of a wuss to actually make some sensible decision. They might comply for some weeks, if persuaded that it is absolutely necessary; but this kind of fish will start to stink pretty strongly, pretty fast. The youth seem to be the leading edge. Whether 10 or 17, White of Minority, boy or girl, no one really cares a straw.
Let us hope it continues this way, and the general social distancing madness (including the closure of pubs, restaurants, entertainment venues etc) ends because of the silent rebellion of the sensible, hard-working, tax-paying people.
If we wait for Boris, obscure petty tyrants will run us all for who knows how long.
Cardinal Cupich has, as we know, really been outdoing himself. I have read a very good rebuttal to his nonsense.
The linked article is here.
The mean quote is this one:
With the stroke of a pen, Cardinal Cupich has blithely yielded the Authority of the Church and subjugated the primacy of her worship to laws of man which are being successfully challenged by other denominations. In doing so, he replaces what has been heroically defended for thousands of years with the absurd perception that the Mass and the Sacraments are less necessary and more potentially dangerous than grocery stores, gas stations, hardware stores, take-out restaurants, laundries, the postal service, and construction trades,
This states very beautifully what I have maintained in a number of posts: our alleged shepherds have become so sold to the laws of man, so utterly oblivious of the value and, well, sacredness of the Sacraments, that they find the virus a wonderful occasion to show how much they are part of the world, sold to its virtue-signalling, and actually better than us, backward Catholics.
Another good quote:
the government is not the one forcing a certification process on our churches. Cardinal Cupich has taken this upon himself,
Unbelievable, but true. Like the gayest fool of all, Cardinal Cupich takes it on himself to go beyond what the local regulations, and his own Bishops’ Conference, state, and decides to embark in a petty tyrant crusade, in order for the world to see how Catholicism-free he has become, and how sold he is to those who hate the Church.
The limit of 10 people to Mass is clearly of Satan. It is just a way to keep the churches factually closed, and the access to the sacraments denied, whilst a flimsy pretence of keeping them, formally, “open” allows to try to avoid criticism.
Well, it makes sense. If you were, say, a Satanist, and were in charge of the decision whether to reopen the churches, but you know that people expect them to be reopened, what would you do? Why, to have a merely symbolic “10 people per Mass” opening would be the perfect answer, wouldn’t it? Mind, I do not say that Cardinal Cupich is, in fact, a satanist. I don’t know whether he is. What I am saying is that he has made a decision that a Satanist would find smart, and conducive to the results he wants to achieve.
Such, my friends, is the state of the Church in the early XXI century. When your Cardinals are so concerned with everything, but Christ and His Church.
Please, dear readers, do not call the chancery and if you do, pay attention how you speak to the switchboard operator on the phone, particularly if she is very saintly.
We do not want to give the Cardinal the excuse for the usual deflection.
The UN has gone (again) all gender mad, by explaining to the English-speaking populations the error of our ways.
I suggest to all my reader to give their contribution to this worthy cause, and be mindful of the recommendations of the UN, with a slight twist:
- always use the gendered noun (e.g. “husband” instead of “spouse”)
- never add the other variation (e.g. “his” instead of the extremely dumb “his or her”)
- never apologise for doing it.
There is a logic in the English language. It has always been common (and in Italian, too!), to make a general plural with the masculine, not the dumb “his or her” or the even dumber “their”.
Example: “A citizen desiring to obtain a passport will be invited to complete an application form stating his name, date, and place of birth”. It’s easy, immediate, traditional, and correct.
It makes one laugh that all those “his, or her” of the Monthy Python clip have now become, besides the gender madness itself, common fare among people who should actually use their brains.
Don’t be (also in the quoted articles) like these people…
Really, Francis has no shame.
You can say what you want of the late John Paul the Not-So-Great, but sympathy with Francis’ SJW causes was not one of his shortcomings.
If Francis had a shred of decency, he would push his Socialist message without trying to hijack his predecessors, however faulty they were at times in their understanding of Catholicism.
But Francis has no decency at all; and he either does not see that everybody else sees it, or else he sees it and he does not care. This is the attitude he has always had: the arrogance of lying to your face, realising that you understand it, but still doing it, because he is the pope (small p, out of respect for the decent ones).
When I first read, years ago, of the alleged habit of some Argentinians of lying openly, shamelessly, and boast of it, I thought it was one of those exaggerations that people create when they describe a stereotype, or a character trait, in too vivid a colour. In time, the repeated, arrogant statements of this man have persuaded me that there must be something in it; because if this were not the case, a man like Francis would exercise at least some prudence in spreading his lies.
Does it work? Er, well, no!! But again, I think Francis is long past caring whether something he wants to say works; whether he is believed by decent people or not; whether he is considered a honest guy or a first-class scoundrel.
He can bark, therefore he does. He abandons himself to his hatred for us, and spits us and our religion in the face, hoping to rile us even more as we see how shamelessly he lies. He probably enjoys the anger that follows. It makes the petty tyrant in him feel satisfied, contented, alive. He will very likely lie to you, insult you, and provoke you to his last day.
I have stopped a long time ago to be seriously angered by this guy. One day he will die and go to his judgment, and so will everyone of us.
As I think of how horrible his own last days promises to be, I resolve to make mine good enough to get to the right side.
The man has no shame, but he should not get (much of) your attention because of it. Consider him one of those disgraces that stay with you, in some ways or other, no matter what: like a flies, or a mosquitoes.
This particular mosquito will stop harassing you soon enough.
I think I should say a word or two about the mounting controversy about the Bishop, The Trads, and The Saintly Switchboard Operator.
First things first: Bishop Stika is The Gayest Fool Of All. He is (I have already written this, but repetita iuvant) a Christ hating Bishop.
Stop for a moment and reflect on what must happen in the mind of a Bishop who goes above and beyond the already cowardly attitude of his Bishops’ conference and gives a public order to deny communion on the tongue. Really, we are talking here of stuff who would not have been believed, would have been considered an absurd, and not even funny, joke only two generations ago.
What we have here is a Bishop who self-appoints himself as the ultimate health expert and pretends to “protect” his flock from this most dangerous practice, the reception of Our Lord as this has always been practiced in the history of the Church before the Age Of Effeminacy. It really is beyond stupid, it goes into the realm of outright insult to the Sacrament. The fact that the Bishop pretends not to see it (I think he does it very well) goes to show what an irrelevance Christ has become in his eyes, and how great is his need to signal virtue and to show how very aligned he is with the current madness. What do I say, aligned? He wants to show that he is better than everybody else!
Truly, this is of Satan, and no discussion allowed.
Still, what I want to discuss today is a trick used by liberals, women, and more or less gay bishops all over the world: the deflection. The Bishop complains that the angry trads have insulted his own telephone operator, who is so saintly and has just lost her husband! What cruel Nazis these trads are!
Give me a break.
Firstly, the saintliness of the operator is nothing to do with the facts at hand, and is merely an emotional handle to make people look bad, or worse than bad. It is certainly wrong to abuse anybody on the phone who is innocent of denying communion on the tongue to faithful Catholics who actually care for Christ and the Sacraments. But this is wrong irrespective of the saintliness of the person abused. This is a deflection.
Secondly, I very much doubt that said, saintly switchboard operator said to the person or persons on the phone, “my dear Sir, can you please kindly consider that I am not only a saintly person, but have recently lost my husband?” Consequently, the sad bereavement of the saintly operator should really not be part of the conversation. This is, also, a deflection.
But the third, and most important, deflection is this: the Bishop should have addressed the matter at hand, instead of throwing mud on his critics by lamenting an episode totally unrelated to it. We all know there will always be the occasional intemperate person, and we all know this controversy is not about that.
This deflection and accusation of rudeness is, by the way, the passive aggressive stuff often seen in women: “blablablabla HE WAS RUDE!!! blablablabla”. The issue at hand is not addressed; but hey, you are supposed to lose, because you hurt her feelings.
Bishop Stika is doing exactly this; albeit, being born with, at least physically, manly attributes, he needs a saintly switchboard operator to get his desired deflection.
In my eyes, Bishop Stika should do the following:
- Get real for a moment and reflect that people who are angry at him, and perhaps even people who – wrongly, of course – abuse the saintly receptionist on the phone, do so because they love Christ, His Church and Her Sacrament vastly more than the Bishop will ever be able to understand, and his behaviour makes their blood boil.
- Get real again, grow some figurative balls to go together with the physical ones, announce urbi et orbi that he has made a mistake, and make clear that his diocese will henceforward follow the guidelines of the Bishops’ Conference, without any of that gay, virtue-signalling stuff. He lives in Kentucky, for crying out loud. There will be no liberal revolution.
But no. It had to be the effeminate “y’all are so, so, sooo rude” non-answer.
The most famous retard on the planet, Greta Thunberg, has been interviewed by CNN, desperately trying to keep the climate change hoax relevant in times in which people have real worries to deal with.
The poor girl, being intellectually challenged, went right into the involuntary trap of “science”, expressing her hope that after the Chinese Virus people will listen more to scientists and experts.
I am sorry to disappoint you, child. What is about to happen is that people will listen to “scientist and experts” less than they do now.
The Chinese Virus is a perfect example of a small cabal of non elected people thinking they have the right to run an entire planet, and trying to force said planet into the tyrannical dystopia they have decided is good for them. They saw that entire Countries reacted with moving solidarity to the request made to them to put in place difficult measures for a short while, and they thought that this meant that these populations could be run by their nose like a huge, dumb ox. It is clear now that this attempt failed miserably, and left much more people sceptical of these petty tyrants than before.
Poor Greta (though I suspect she will not stay poor for very long; not if she listens to Al Gore…) is very deluded if she thinks that this Chinese Virus mess helps her. It actually helps us against her and her tribe of deranged Enviroretards, as more and more people understand the vast lack of proportion between a limited chance of disease and virtually unlimited economic devastation and oppression of the most elementary freedoms.
When the first emergency has ended, and the economic suffering starts unfolding in all its tragic dimension, the number of those who want to scream when they hear the name “Greta” telling them how to kill their own livelihood will rapidly increase. Common sense will gain ground. More and more people will start asking themselves what sense does it make to have your freedoms and finances, and your entire life, dominated by this bunch of lunatics and by the very expensive and painful reaction to purely hypothetical and fantasised dangers.
The time of common sense is coming back rapidly, and Greta will not like it.
I am informed now, via Vox Cantoris, that the Evil Clown invites me to fast today. I wonder, when was Thursday a day of fasting?
Oh wait! This is another ecu-maniacal initiative of this stupid guy! What he would not do to dilute the Christian message and accustom you to think that there is one big community of “believers” all over the planet!
But you see, Evil Clown of my boots: if faith is not the true one, it is simply evil! Therefore, your invitation to Catholics to pray together with infidels (something that we cannot do! Not even together with Proddies, come to that!!) is nothing more than a scandalous invitation to consider all religions (the true one, and all the others) as pretty much the same thing!
Thanks, but no thanks, not-so-dear Evil Clown.
Today, I will pray for your death instead.
In fact, I will “implore God to help Humanity overcome this time of evil popes and lack of faith”, by taking you out of the game and to the presence of the Rex Tremendae Majestatis in which you, very obviously, do not believe.
There. Thank you!
And as to the fasting, today I will feast both at lunch and dinner (the joys of lockdown, you see), in honour of this day.
You got to be really scared at the attitude of this creepy guy, cardinal Cupich.
His Youtube address to the Muslim community for Ramadan has a grand total of 751 views as I write this (not from yesterday; from the 6th of May), showing that the Mohammedans have really taken to heart his message, avidly linking to it and drinking every word of the guy telling them how to be Muslims as he so eagerly praises them for being infidels; which, we gather, is so beautiful that Catholics want to be with them during Ramadan!
Oh, the depths of spirituality of Christ-denying infidels! I am so moved, so moved! Add me as viewer number 751 to this scandalous broadcast, most offensive to the Most Holy Trinity even as he patronises those who deny it!
Apart from the now usual blasphemy of considering, in a veiled, unspoken but implicit way, Muslims and Christians as worshiping the same God, Cupich just does not want to climb down from his non-existent audience’s backside: his “holy month of Ramadan” is only one of the many expressions of dhimmitude, together with sugary, emotional references to the festive meals with which the Mohammedans interrupt their fast, etc. It truly is an appalling demonstration of condescension and submission at the same time. Cupich really explains to Muslims how to do things as he waxes lyrical (or at least he tries) about the beautiful spiritual fruits that fasting has on infidels (but he does not say the last part).
This is a professionally packaged video with 751 views (including mine, I think) in more than seven days. It really shows not only the appalling irrelevance of this people, but their boundless vanity as they want to appear in public, forcing their stupid message of blasphemy and apostasy to people utterly disinterested in listening to it!
I do not know how many employees the Archdiocese of Chicago has, but I do not put it past Cupich to have put a dozen of them to click on the video several times to avoid total embarrassment.
A goal which was, of course, not achieved.
Look, it has already happened that the public authorities show hostility to Catholicism. In the end, the children of Fatima were detained in 1917 (August, if memory serves) exactly in order to prevent them from seeing the Blessed Virgin appearing to them!
This time, though, things are fundamentally different. It is not only that 3,500 soldiers have been mobilised, just days after the 1st May celebrations were allowed! It is that all this happens with the consent and complicity of the Bishops!
When Pius XIII becomes Pope, I hope he does not allow a single one of these world-worshipping little cowards to stay in charge. What we are witnessing is the almost complete emasculation, the almost complete (so-called) church-of-england-isation of Holy Mother Church; and truly, only Her indefectibility will save Her from the extinction to which, otherwise, this bunch of spineless homos would condemn her.
I don’t know what is next. Very probably, the Bishops applauding the arrest of those who might dare to show up, soldiers and all.
I really wouldn’t be surprised.
Let us say, you are a Bishop who hates Christ, for reasons known to you and, possibly, to a restricted number of other men only.
You are obviously terrified at the idea of masses resuming more or less regularly, and faithful Christian receiving on the tongue, as even the Bishops’ Conference of your own Country says you should be allowed to do.
What do you do?
Why, you show yourself oh so concerned for the health of everybody, of course! This allows you to create rules that no one else has and a fuss without precedent, which then makes it easier to justify banning Communion on the tongue.
You might release instructions like this one:
- The faithful who present themselves for communion on the tongue will be denied communion.
- Those who want to receive in the only way allowed (the Protestant/ V Ii one) get the following instruction: “Once you leave your pew/chair you will proceed single file (maintaining 6 feet apart) to the distribution point,” Stika wrote. “Immediately before you reach the distribution point you will remove your protective face mask placing it in your pocket and sanitize your hands with 70% alcohol-based sanitizing gel/solution (which will be on a small table directly in front of the distribution point). “Standing on the floor-marked X (or kneeling at the 6-foot marked locations along the communion rail), you will extend your arms and hands toward the priest/deacon with the palm of your non-writing hand facing up and completely flat supported by your writing hand,”
You will, of course, look like a total fag, which will possibly not displease you at all. Still, you will achieve your trifecta of virtue signaling, antagonising the true faithful, and enmity with Christ.
“But Mundabor, Mundabor!” – You might say – “This is too dumb even for satire! No bishop would be as thick as that!”
You would think that, wouldn’t you?
I have bad news for you: read here.
Follow the link to the Mass of the Evil Clown, held in the House of Sodomy.
The money quote is, as recognised by the outlet itself, this one:
“In recent days many people have lost their jobs; they have not been re-employed, they are working illegally … We pray for these brothers and sisters of ours who suffer from this lack of work “.
In one phrase, one can isolate everything that is wrong with this guy. Let us go in order:
- Francis’ preoccupations are never spiritual, they are worldly. When he pretends to be interested in soul, it is just an excuse to push his worldly agenda. So he can say that the poor are exploited, or he can say that those who exploit the poor will go to hell (notabene: the God of Mercy does not help the class enemy…). In the end, though, it is always the same message of social justice warrior in white.
- Francis complains about circumstances he has contributed to create. A Pope reminding the faithful that no one does, but God has decreed so, would encourage quite a different climate than the present inordinate panic. But hey, Francis is the enemy of capitalism, as is a sustained lockdown. Still, he never misses an occasion to whine.
- Francis is confused, because he does not think straight. As long as the lockdown is not consigned to the dustbin of history, it will not be possible to say that anyone is not re-employed. People can’t be re-employed when it is not legal for their employers to actually make them work. But hey, these subtleties are too much for Karl Francis.
- Francis conflates several issues, in order to subtly helps two causes of his at the price of one. In this case, he puts together the unemployed and those who work illegally. That illegal work is something that takes away jobs from honest people, he does not stop to reflect. In Francis’ world, you as a law abiding citizen have no rights.
He does do all the time. It really is all he knows. And why does he do this? Firstly, out of social hatred and social envy, as befits a Commie. Secondly, because his social grievances help him to look good, which he clearly craves above all else in his old age. Thirdly, because having lost the faith decades ago (if he ever had it, of which I doubt) the constant pounding about social issues helps him feel good. Pretty much everybody wants to feel he is doing some good. Every Stalin can look, in some moment of lucidity, at his cruelty and say to himself “I am changing the world, I am making it a better place”. Exculpation and excuse at the same time, social issues are what allows Francis to feed his ego whilst he thinks well of himself.
You will notice this pattern at work all the time. Think of this blog post the next time you read about a homily of his.
More likely than not, you will be able to make exactly the same considerations.
The Vatican Museums have announced they will reopen soon.
Masks, distances, temperature checks, the usual stuff. Nothing really bothersome considering that on the days when you have to pay to get in, the museums are not packed at all and distancing is easy peasy.
A lot can be done, even in the time of madness, to allow for a somewhat normal life. Thermometers are cheap to buy. Masks are extremely cheap and, if it’s the only way to get your structure open, so be it. But even the Vatican recognises that life must go back to some form of normality soon-ish and, actually, now.
Look, we can discuss a long time about this stuff with the masks. I have been out walking with and without mask. Most people had no mask, and it did not bother me one bit. No one coughed carelessly. Everyone behaved responsibly. It has come to the point (and it is sad to say so) that one now keeps his distance quite automatically.
Even in those Countries where it is fashionable to still be oh so concerned, the powers that be need to recognise that most activities can reopen, with some easy and sensible precaution, now.
The economy cannot stop.
Even those in charge at the Vatican Museums recognise it.
Today, the United Kingdom celebrates the 75th anniversary of VE Day, Victory in Europe in the Second World War.
How ironic that this day should be celebrated with the entire population forced to a mild version of house arrest by their own Government. It really goes to show what a fragile construct freedom is, and the many ways in which democracy can corrupt itself to the point that being in a democracy make people forget that they are supposed to live in freedom.
75 years of internal peace have led too many to forget what it that they cherish about freedom. If the elected government would order them to cry “nanananaaaanna” for the next three weeks, because experts say that it helps against obesity, or poverty, or whatever, they would probably think it very fitting and appropriate to do so.
Protect the NHS. Save lives. Scream like an idiot.
75 years later, two generations of people who were ready to die to defend their freedom are afraid to put their nose out of their home, are ready to denounce to the police those who do, and are getting very rapidly accustomed to be told what degree of freedom exactly they are actually allowed to have this week. Not because of a war. Not because of bombs. Not because of foreign invaders. No. Because of a Government too cowardly to go against the opinion of self-appointed “experts”, now conducting the most extensive exercise in techno-dictatorship of all times on a planetary scale. And it saddens me to say this, but i suspect a lot of low-income people find the idea of staying home and have their sweet doing nothing paid by the Government not unappealing at all.
If the generation of those who fought and died in the Second World War would see what bunch of effeminate nincompoops too many of their nephews have reduced themselves to, would they have considered it worth to fight and die for them?
What a sad year 2020 is becoming. Not for the tragedy of an obviously dangerous (if not anywhere near as dangerous as the hype) virus and the bereavements it caused; but for what it says about the Western populations, as the initial three weeks that could have been fairly easily absorbed are now becoming the Economic Apocalypse, with no one in this country willing to say “enough!”, and Boris choosing the easy way of doing nothing and showing himself “concerned”.
An entire Country relinquishes his freedom. Its elected representative do not dare do anything. A lot os people are happy with not having to work.
This is what their grandparents apparently fought for.
One of the most pernicious side effects of the Chinese Virus has been the sidelining of the religious experience, with the consent, complicity and active collaboration of great part of the Catholic clergy.
Punctually, the bill for this disgraceful behaviour is presented to the faithful. If Mr Pritzker, the Democratic Governor of Illinois, has his way, it will be a year before church building function normally again.
The Governor obviously hides behinds “the experts”. “Hey, it’s not me – he is almost saying -. I loathe these abortion-hating people; but I would not dare to go against them if it were dangerous for my career. However, the Catholic Church has been very zealous in approving the closure of their own churches, and the social marginalisation of the Mass for just as long as we want. Why would I not profit of such a brilliant situation as this one”?
And in truth, how has anyone expected this to go any differently? These are people who never allow a crisis to “go to waste”, and this crisis can certainly be milked for all it’s worth to help detach from the Church countless faithful; particularly after it has become clear to politicians of all colours that the Catholic clergy themselves seem intentioned to do just the same!
It’s open season on the Church, say many US Bishop. How is a Democrat Governor supposed not to shoot? Do you think someone in favour of killing babies in their mothers’ wombs will suddenly have a religious experience when he sees that the churches are closed, and his enemies locked at home?
Obviously, this poses an obvious and very unpleasant question: why would the Catholic higher echelons support their own marginalisation? The answer is, in my eyes, very saddening but also very evident.
It is because they hate Christ and His Church themselves. It is because they are either perverted, or in an illicit sexual relationship, or atheists. It is because they hate themselves for having to lie every day about their nature and their lives. Granted, the attempt to escape the contradiction by diverting the attention of their parishioners to topics like “poverty” and “social justice” may make them feel better for a while, which is why so many do it (if you want to know a priest who has lost his faith, look for a priest concerned about “social justice”). Still, by all their talk, they still know that, in the end, they are hypocritical scroungers living at the expense of an organisation they hate, but with no balls to out themselves as Church haters and seek a new life.
All these despicable individuals (starting from the Evil Clown, down to most bishops and, no doubt a great number of priests) have jumped on the Great Crisis Bandwagon, allowing them to get some relief from their duties, feel good with themselves as they pretend to “protect” their faithful, and harm an organisation they hate. They will, make no mistake, be in no hurry to get back to normality again. It’s for your safety, you know.
This crisis has shown this: that, generally speaking, our clergy has become the enemy of our religious freedom, and of our sensus catholicus before that. They want to make of Catholicism something you practice when people who don’t care a straw for Christ say it is “safe” for you to do so. They want to make the Church and the Sacrament as irrelevant for you as they are for them.
We need to wake up to this assault and denounce the bishops and priest who keeps blabbering about safety instead of doing their job.
Enough with the enemies in our midst.
In another example of the stunning arrogance of the “experts”, one of the lead guys who forced Boris Johnson’s hand “forecasting” up to a quarter of a million deaths because of Coronavirus – unless the Country enters a long-term dystopia – has now lost his government adviser job after being caught flaunting the very rules he wanted to impose on 66 million people.
The excuse is even more arrogant than the event: he “thought” he was immune.
Fine, Sherlock. I “think” I am immune, too. May I resume my normal life now?
Mind, though: the guy was made to resign because of his obvious hypocrisy. The investigation about how, and why, and based on what data, and checked by whom, a handful of people were allowed to take hostage an entire Country has not started yet, and I hope it will not be late in coming. When that investigation starts, the private motives of the individuals involved will have to be examined extremely carefully. This is the category of people most likely to be affected by all sorts of socially accepted mental diseases, from thinking that CO2 emissions are killing the planet to believing that they have the duty to “change the world” by imposing to it their own brand of madness.
As we are there, we should also know how is it possible that, in a matter so discussed, controversial and dominated by assumptions, one single (and extreme) point of view is allowed to be presented to the Government as “the view of the experts”, or as a sort of “consensus”, or at least “very prevalent opinion”. Methinks, if the Government had allowed a wider (and wiser) spectrum of opinions to flow in its decision, the outcome would not have been “your own people say 1/4 million death, so block everything NOW!”, but more like “the experts’ opinion range from a nasty flu to a very dramatic outbreak, and the Government is now called to examine the pros and cons of possible actions and make clear to the population what decisions are made, and why”.
As it is now, we are all in danger of seeing vital policy decisions being made almost obligatory (at least in the presence of average politicians) by the biases and prejudices of a very small group of people, having their own hidden and less hidden agendas and free to impose them on the population because “Government expert panel”, or “Imperial College”.
If this crisis has shown one thing, it is this: the politics has almost immediately caved in to theories and predictions that proved anywhere from exaggerated to outlandish.
Nor has this stopped: as president Trump prepares to allow the US to reopen, new “experts predictions” are now hitting the Internet, and you can be sure the Leftists will make sure to milk them for all they are worth.
My suggestion to President Trump: adopt a blood, toil, tears and sweat approach. Call the Country to fight courageously against the “invisible enemy” instead of cowering home until the Country is entirely destroyed. Tell the American people that many will die, but the Country must go on. This will take a lot of wind away from the Democrats’ sails, and they will look irresponsible to all but the Venti Latte Super Fairy Crowd.
Life must go on.
Even the hypocritical “experts” understood this.
Though, of course, they did not want to tell you.
I do not want to link to the hideous website, but it appears the Evil Clown has, semel in anno, said something quite right: a good shepherd is distinguished by his flock.
Quite so, Father Castro, quite so!
This is why the shepherds of the V II nuChurch have been steadily losing ground in all Western Countries, whilst the small but dedicated orders of Traditionalists (all of them, but particularly the heroic troops of the SSPX) keep thriving.
It is part and parcel of human nature to, in time, detect the phonies. It was, therefore, unavoidable – if very sad – that millions of people realised that the priest talking to them in a slightly too high-pitched on the Sunday was not a man of God, and could not give them the nourishment they wanted. The amount of people who have – sadly – abandoned the Catholic Church, or at least Catholic liturgy, by keeping a solid, if vitiated, faith – think of Sarah Palin, or Mike Pence – is a testimony to that.
In fact, I wonder how many of these people have abandoned their attendance to Catholic Mass simply in order to keep a faith they were afraid of losing; something, mind my words, very wrong from a theological standpoint, but very real from the vantage point of a poorly catechised Catholic.
Pope Francis can’t even get the people to see him as a tourist attraction in St Peter. He has failed even as a curiosity object and popular “moving landmark”. That he dares to make such comparison shows that he likely does not even read beforehand the homilies others write for him, or he would have asked that the subject be changed. Unless he is really so dumb that he does not understand what an indictment of his work his very words are.
In the meantime, the SSPX keeps thriving (sorry, Mr Voris: you lose), Francis keeps blabbering, and the faithful keep suffering. But the truth of the matter is this: that the bad shepherd will only be allowed to scatter their sheep as long as the Lord allow them to. in the end, not one sheep will be lost that is supposed to go back to the fold.
Francis’ diabolical hate for the Church is infinitely sad, but ultimately useless.
So what is this Chinese Virus, or Covid-19 as they call it, exactly? How deadly, how dangerous?
The obsessive exactness of the Italian statistics, which I have followed every day for a week, seem to me to give a clear answer.
This is not the plague, obviously. Still, it is clearly worse than the flu. It is, as I have written in the past, like a particularly nasty flu, which, whilst not really grave for most people, can kill the “low hanging fruits”, or people with certain kind of vulnerabilities. Let us see some salient points:
- The average death in Italy hovered around 80 for most of the emergency. Mind, the virus also killed some in their Forties and Fifties. But the average around Eighty was, of course, after taking account of these unfortunate people. Therefore, for one who died at 47 there were many who died at well over 80.
- The Virus is clearly more dangerous for people whose immune system is less strong for some reason. If your immune system is fine, the virus can’t do much. If you have issues, it can be a big problem, perhaps with intensive care unit and, in this case, a 30% or 40% probability of death. It seems to me that in Italy, the Virus found many very old people who, whilst still alive, and in some cases reasonably healthy, could not react properly to the virus’ attack. But when you have so many old people, you also have many people who are old and sick already. Therefore, a Country with a big population of old people might have a multiple of the deaths of countries were people kill themselves before that time with booze, donuts or cigarettes. A populatio with a great number of older people obviously makes the “job” of the virus “easier”. In other Countries, like the United Kingdom, you have less old people, but you have many more obese people, which causes diabetes, which is another way the Virus gets at his victims.
- In some cases, the emergency was simply due to neglect. Boris Johnson needed his ICU (though he was never attached to the ventilator) because – having a Country to run in a time of emergency – he neglected to take care of himself properly when he became ill.
In short, you can make this kind of equivalence: imagine that your immune system is your kitchen sink, and that the virus is water pouring on it and locking the drains. If the sink is big enough and the water just stays there at half or less, you wonder what the fuss is about. If the water gets very near to overflow, it’s ICU. If there is overflow, you die. The fact that 99% of people survive does not mean that the disease is not potentially lethal, or is simply “the cold”. But in most cases, the immune defence sink will easily take care of the threat. In the other cases (old age, particularly with comorbidity, diabetes, and the like) it’s the ICU or the grave. This, I think, is what most people find most alarming: one can know how well his system reacts only when he gets the disease, and no one after a certain age can be sure that he is not one of those (tiny, but real) who will be in trouble.
The danger was very real. No flu causes the kind of emergency seen in Bergamo. Not even in the worst flu years. Not even remotely. This was not a cold, and was not a normal flu. I imagine it was a kind of Gollum Flu.
Still, this is not the plague. Most people survive. We can’t all stay locked until a vaccine is ready. The efforts must be directed toward the ICU end of the situation, and sensible rule to protect the general population.
It cannot be permanent lockdown.
I am not guilty of always agreeing with Breitbart’s John Nolte, but on this, he is most certainly right.
The main quote:
What had been a national effort to save lives, a noble effort of national unity, has been twisted by Democrat governors into something unnecessarily punitive that reeks of a partisan power play to destroy President Trump’s re-election chances. Give me a better explanation. Because this is the bottom line…
Unless you’re willing to wait for a cure (that is at least a year away or might never come at all), when there is no risk the health care system’s going to crash, what is the point of waiting one more day to open up the country when waiting doesn’t make us any safer?
Tomorrow, vast parts of Italy (the Country most brutally impacted by the virus, for a number of reasons going from a direct fly from Wuhan to Milan, to inter-generational living, to the excellent health service and health habits of the Italians allowing for a very high number of very old people, to others that will have to be investigated, like the stowing of, as it turned out, infectious people in care homes) will start what begins to be normal life. Many factories will reopen, many shops will reopen, etc. In short, the Country realises that life has to go on. In the UK, what appears to be a staggered reopening is going to be announced imminently.
Note that in Italy a Centre Left coalition is in power. They want to stay there, too. At some point, they have to be practical about it.
A different dynamic seems to be at play in several US States. It appears evident to me (and to Mr Nolte) that California, Virginia, North Carolina and Illinois are at the forefront of a different battle: the unseating of Trump through the damaging of the local economies.
The game is very obvious: smash the economy, blame Trump. It might not work, but without it Trump wins in a landslide anyway, so this reeks of a move out of desperation with no downside from the point of view of the power-drunk Democrats. In California, they run little risk anyway. In other states, there is no doubt a grateful party will provide plenty of opportunities for every Roy Cooper losing his job in “Operation Chaos”.
Well, look, I am not so entirely outraged. You elect a Democratic Governor, you run the risk of being used as a pawn in his desperate fight against Trump. Still, it’s sad for the people incvolved and outrageous for American liberties anyway.
The antidote to the Democrats’ poison:
- The Republican States must reopen fast and hard, making those in the Democrat states realise they are being used.
- Trump needs to call for the fast reopening of the Country almost anywhere, and he needs to attack those Governors who try to take their own state’s citizen as hostages for political reasons.
This is now past the original medical emergency, and is transmuting into an Orwellian rehearsal of Mass Power Seizure for the next emergency the powers that be decide to call: which can be “global warming”, hunger in Africa, pretty much everything under the sun.
Stay vigilant, and punish at the ballot all those who manipulate a real emergency in favour of a fake agenda.
Operation Chaos is threatening all of us.
The video comes from project Veritas, and I take Project Veritas seriously.
I have written recently about the many corners from which the virus is manipulated to reach some other aim that is nothing to do with the protection from the virus. But I had missed this: the likely manipulation of death figures in order to pump money from the Federal Government.
Obviously, there could be something more innocent going on (overwhelmed doctors, doctors not wanting to go out and visit corpses which might still be infective), but I am not surprised at the idea that Mayors like De Blasio (or other Mayors, or Governors) might have an interest in inflating the deaths; either to pursue one of the agenda I have written about, or simply to get more money from the Federal Government. In the end, another aim is served by inflating the statistics: protect themselves (the mayors, the Governors like the ones in Virginia and Michigan) from the accusations of being too brutal with their lockdown.
I notice here that the Italian Government never made any mystery of the following facts:
- Only those tested and found infected with the Virus went into the official statistics
- Co-morbidity was always included in the statistics, and the fact was amply publicised.
- Including dead people into the statistics of Covid mortality just like that was never contemplated.
This allowed the data to be consistent all over the Country and across days and weeks, and also made very clear how the dead very calculated. Actually, the Italian Government regularly had statistics about the average age of the disease, and the average number of pre-existing serious diseases. In fact, I have abundantly written about the fact that the desire to be consistent and factual about the deaths caused their number to be massively underestimated. Still, consistency of figures is what was most important, so it was well done.
What seems to be happening in New York and elsewhere appears to me no more than profiteering, All this will have to be very carefully investigated; then, if proved, profiteering (albeit on behalf of a public entity) must be published with jail sentences, and Mayors must not be spared.
