Archbishop Gullickson is reported to say that the Pandemic (better: the nannying craziness that attached itself to it) could be fatal to the Novus Ordo.
I am not as optimistic as he is, and I do not think that the Vetus Ordo will replace the Mass of The Guitars anytime soon. For that, we would need a number of Tridentine Mass opportunities that we still do not have.
However, I think it is safe to say that this Pandemic-Nanny-Craze has caused some long-term effect that will stay with us a while, and might have a very beneficial effect for the Church. Let us see them in detail.
First: an inordinate number of Catholics have discovered that our Bishops have no faith. They have seen that Christ, the Eucharist, and the Mass do not play any real role in their lives, apart from giving them an excuse to scrounge a very privileged (or worse) living. The faithful have become aware that these Bishops do not serve Christ, but are fully sold to the world, and would do everything that make them look good with the world. I suspect that this crazy enthusiasm for nanny-behaviour is because a number of them would, actually, like to be women, but I have no sufficient statistical data to prove this. Still, the spectacle of hundreds of bishops behaving like old, controlling, acid spinsters has been noticed around the world. This will have consequences in the way they are perceived by their flock in the years to come.
Secondly: the Internet is a great thing. Once deprived of the actual Mass, millions went on the Internet to find at least a virtual one. Low and behold, countless people discovered in this way the beauty and majesty of the Old Rite, which they would not have discovered otherwise. Oh, the irony! God does have a sublime sense of humour.
The sum total of the two facts will amount to this: more and more faithful will start to wonder, and to ask around more or less loudly, who these people are, who seem to think that their job is to keep their sheep away from what is important (the Mass, and the beauty of the TLM), and focused on what politicians say we should all do; and whether they are worthy of the task assigned to them or should not, for the sake of everyone involved, resign and go to back to some obscure parish, whilst actual Catholics are appointed Bishops in their stead.
Most Bishops have outed themselves as unmitigated cowards, hirelings of the secular governments and, in a word, frauds. A number of Catholics have opened their eyes to this; more will hopefully do so in the future, when the Bishops reopen the churches and, first thing, ask for money after deciding that the submissive, unquestioning, cowardly compliance with some government Diktat is more important than the Mass.
“Please help me to deprive you of the Mass again, with whatever excuse, next time” is not going to be a great fundraising slogan.
And in fact, it is difficult to see with what face will a Bishop dare to show himself to his sheep again, all over the Catholic planet. It will be like the deserter coming back to his native village, mumbling something about “peace”, and asking to be given a job as comptroller now that the war has ended.
The majority of Catholics will, I am afraid, side with the deserters. But a growing number of people, who have also discovered the beauty of the Tridentine Mass because of his desertion, will have no time for such people. They will direct their resources to those (Traditional) organisations who are really Catholic, and ask the Bishop to think for himself what he has to do (beside resigning, which would still be the best move) to regain the trust of his sheep; which, if he does not want to do, he can seriously take a hike.
If enough people do this, one of two things will happen:
1) the evil bishops close churches in retaliation to the evil, evil Catholics demanding that their bishops act like ones. There is no obligation to Mass attendance if the distance is unreasonable, and actually our Bishops have told us that there is no obligation to Mass attendance whenever they decide it looks good to say so. Therefore, the devout Catholic will then be free to watch his proper Mass on the Internet without any fault on his part. In the meantime, the Traditionalist orders will thrive and the effeminate, V II, nu-church will rot. Praise the Lord!
2) The evil bishops understand that something must be done, and the TLM is re-instituted in many corners in order to appease these pesky Catholic donors, and avoid a mass exodus to the SSPX-cum-virtual-mass after they have closed enough parish churches.
Let us wait and see.
Who knows: something good might come even from the most egregious defection of the Bishops since Diocletian (sans the violence).
God does have a great sense of humour.
If you ask me, as we write the 15 July 2020 Trump has only one enemy, and his name is Donald Trump. Unless he does some very stupid things on the Lockdown, or DACA, or other stuff (and just to reiterate: I did not like his treatment of Jeff Sessions, at all…) he should drive over Creepy Joe with the steamroller, and when Trump is done with him, Creepy Joe will not even… remember what hit him.
One of the greatest danger I saw for Trump’s re-election is a “soft” approach on the “second wave”, which tries to appease Dr Fauci and the Scarf Lady (though it seems to me the former is far more insidious than the latter) for fear that the Democrats unleash hell on him because of his allegedly “wrong” approach to the virus. Note to Trump: the Dems would unleash hell on him even if he did exactly what they ask, from here to election day.
Trump seems to have understood that appeasing the two is not going to pay and would, in fact, be a huge risk. The evidence? Peter Navarro went at Fauci with the shotgun, listing a series of mistakes, from big to huge, that make the man a guy not to listen to.
There can be no doubt that this happens with the permission, or after the instructions, of Trump himself.
Of course, Trump is in a delicate position here, as there can be no doubt that he has listened to Fauci too much, and for too long. But hey, Trump is not an expert, Fauci and Birx are (supposed to be). It is not unreasonable to simply argue that you listen to the Government experts, until the facts prove that the experts were not so expert after all.
Trump should now follow the example of the excellent Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, who 1) chose a course based on sanity and common sense, and 2) was man enough to stay the course, even after weeks of prophecies of doom and hysteric journalists screaming Mass Murder.
This virus is on the way out. Trump must accompany the reopening of the Country and actively fight the false narratives of the inflated “cases” and bogus “hospitalisations” the Democrats are now trying to use. He also needs to spread a message of resilience, self-reliance, optimism, and confidence in the future of the Country. It takes some attributes, of course. But if you have no attributes you have no business being a President, either.
I’d love to see DeSantis as the Republican candidate in 2028 or 2032, perhaps even in 2024. He certainly seems to have what it takes in the most important times: the times of emergencies and of the temptation of easy solutions.
Let us hope Trump does not listen to the likes of Jaranka, and keeps a cool head about this.
The employment data for June are out. Alas, they are very bad news for the Democrats. At this pace, I think by the end of October things will look fine indeed.
The Dems will certainly not allow this. Economic recovery is pure poison for them. Their plan has obviously been, for months now, to create vast economic misery staying in the way of Trump’s reelection. We know they don’t care about the Country. What will they do?
I think they will try the following:
Expect more space given to a man who wasn’t shy of attention one day in his life. Fauci will tell us that things are going to get very bad, unless Governors castrate the economy again. This time, he will have a much more difficult job. Peter and the Wolf come to mind. There might be local closures for a while, but as a whole, I would say that Republicans states have had enough.
Dems will keep pushing the rioting, burning, and disrupting of the economy. They will say J-J-J-Justice is more important than the economy. Plus, all those people around will spread the virus in its last legs, helping them to push more Fauci-ism down your throat. I think they will avoid Autonomous Zones this time; but the more Molotov cocktails, the better. It will be, as always, Trump’s fault.
Expect more rubbish from the MSMs and the “polling agencies”. Biden in front 14%, 15%, 34%, 71%. Trump at 3% or so probability of victory. “Unnamed” discouraged Republican representatives (very likely, Mitt Romney). Trump possibly resigning before the election (this I have really read a week or so ago! I had to check the date to make sure it was not written just after the tape…. It was not!). There is really no limit to the shamelessness of these people. But it makes them look good with their Facebook friends, you see….
Relentless insults at Trump. Accusations of racism, white Supremacism, robbing of old women, and slaughtering of cute kitten. “Fine people hoax” like there is no tomorrow. If all else fails, screaming like that ugly woman (if such it was) at his inauguration.
Mind, I think they will fail.
But they will try. They don’t mind what kind of damage they inflict on their Country.
Getting rid of Trump is the only thing they care for.
You just need to visit for one minute the comments section of every conservative site when the article commented mentions the word “lockdown”, to see what people in Trumpland think of it.
The fact is, a second nationwide lockdown would be a catastrophe. I would not cry “we have lost”, or abandon myself to the defeatism so many conservative commenters seem to enjoy (I wish I had a dollar for every “it’s all over” comment I have read since the begin of the Internet), but certainly it would be the biggest gift Trump can make to his adversaries. If you ask me, already the first lockdown was too long, and Trump pushed it a bit too far before starting to work for reopening. Whilst the discipline is in the hands of the States, the input coming from the White House is, as everybody has noticed in March, extremely important.
In my eyes, Trump should do this:
- Constantly criticise the Democrats for crying that the end was near when it was convenient to damage him, and forgetting everything about the Chinese Virus when…. it was convenient to damage him. This should be relentless, day in and day out.
- Never mention, or even consider, or propose, or ponder about, a second nationwide or almost nationwide lockdown.
- Constantly remind the Americans to be brave in battle, and not to desert their post. The Brits went to work under the bombs during the Blitz. Everyone should reflect on this.
- Fire, or sideline, or isolate Dr Fauci, now. Fauci has shown a very alarming propensity to think he can make policy. He needs to go. He needs to be substitute by someone taking great care to only talk about facts and stats, but always referring to the decisions of the elected personnel when asked about policy options.
Trump is in the middle of two storms right now: the BLM Attempted Revolution and the Chinese Virus. The first event will work for him if he navigates it correctly (which he seems to be doing). The second is an unknown at the moment, and I am terrified of whom he might lend his ear to if the second wave proves (or is said to be) a massive one.
God forbid, Dr Fauci and Jaranka;s influence determine the campaign and the President’s actions in the last fourth month of the race.
The US economic data that came out today were a surprise of historic proportion.
The unemployment was at 14.7% last month, a historic high. It was expected to rise anywhere between 19% and 20%. the finance markets were bracing for a loss of 8m jobs.
It turned out differently.
The unemployment rate did not rise to 20%. It dropped to 13.3%.
The economy did not shed 8 million of jobs. It gained two and a half.
I think one day people will write that this is the day Biden knew (before he forgot again) that he had lost the election.
The Democrats tried to destroy Trump by accusing him of incompetence in dealing with the Coronavirus. He stunned the country with solid leadership and strong optimism. They failed.
The Democrats then tried to destroy him by destroying the economy. He gave them some space (too much, I think; but hey…) in order to avoid giving them the flank. He had sufficient courage to reopen before it was too late. They failed.
Then they tried to destroy him by destroying the entire country. He sent the national Guard to Minnesota, and threatened to do it elsewhere. They failed.
And now, this.
The economy is coming back with a vengeance. The next months will be characterised by a strong optimism as the economy races again. Bar big surprises, it will be firing on all cylinders by November.
Trump had seen it right. He had predicted, many times, that the economy would recover strongly, faster than most people expected. Today is his great vindication.
He went for the jugular, as always, giving a press conference. He destroyed the Democrat narrative whilst thanking them.
He stands tall now, with the economy soaring.
Not one person lacked a ventilator.
Meet the Virus Slayer.
My blood boils when I read the comments of the never happy, the professional Monday morning quarterbacks, the permanently grumpy losers, the people so stupid, or so absorbed in their perennial grievances, that they are unable to understand what great gift God made us with this man.
Support Trump. Support him with your friends, relatives, coworkers. See past the occasional intemperance, or the odd tweet. This Presidency is not about this.
This man is a giant. Forgive him his peccadilloes, and thank God that he, and not Hillary or Joe or Kamala or Beto, are leading the nation.
Well, it looks like Hollywood is going to take a big hit.
Yes, some of the losses will be recovered when the movie theatres reopen. Yes, the streaming services will allow to offset another part of the losses. Yes, the Hollyweird freak factory will continue to be interesting for many. But there is no denying that they are going to take a big hit this year.
This means less bonuses (or none at all) for big wig executives, less attractive pay packages for actors and directors and, more in general, a loss if influence as a lot less people (perhaps 40-50% less) are exposed to the garbage coming from there.
I know, this is also a bite to the economy. Sadly, it means loss of income for all those who would have been the recipients of the money spent by the characters described above. But if a hit it has to be, I prefer it to come from there.
We will have to see how the industry recovers and whether this may lead, to an extent, to a partial permanency of the losses once people get accustomed to do other things with their free time, or to just take the Hollywood freaks less seriously. Still, it seems to me that this is good news, and signals another little shift from the traditional channels of leftists propaganda to other, less manipulable mediums like internet news services and sensible you tube channels.
In the meantime, enjoy your rubbish-free spring.
Yours truly has decided to make a mini-study. The provisional results are published below.
The study consisted in the observation of a couple of hundred Brits, outside in the wild on a sunny afternoon.
The idea is that those who are really worried *will wear a mask*, and those who do not wear a mask *aren’t really fazed*. Note to you living abroad: there is no obligation to wear a mask in England.
The extremely scientific methodology ( = counting) resulted in a very scientific “range”; because this is what you do nowadays.
Between 2 and 3 percent of those sampled wore a mask. All the others really didn’t care. A cold, a suspected flu, or extreme ugliness might also have been a factor in the decision to wear a mask.
Peer review is currently ongoing, as my cat is looking at the data.
The conclusion is obvious: the Country at large does not care a dried fig for this hysteria, and it copes with it merely because, these parts, most people keep working, and earning, as usual. But if they were free to talk without being accused of wanting to kill Grandma Louise they would, when asked about all this, say “utter rubbish”.
The study will be published on Lancet soon, because they have published far less accurate studies already.
I am very proud of my contribution to the scientific community.
From now on, this will be “settled science”.
Thanks to Thomas Burk, I have received this wonderful link showing, cough, The Resistance; but, this time, from the bench. I will quote it in its entirety because it is, besides being very informative, also quite funny. Emphases mine:
“Before I rule, I’m advising everybody in this room, no public outbursts or displays. The court is still in session until you are told otherwise.
Since the inception of this insanity, the following regulations, rules or consequences have occurred: I won’t get COVID if I get an abortion but I will get COVID if I get a colonoscopy. Selling pot is essential but selling goods and services at a family- owned business is not. Pot wasn’t even legal and pot dispensaries didn’t even exist in this state until five months ago and, in that five months, they have become essential but a family-owned business in existence for five generations is not.
A family of six can pile in their car and drive to Carlyle Lake without contracting COVID but, if they all get in the same boat, they will. We are told that kids rarely contract the virus and sunlight kills it, but summer youth programs, sports programs are cancelled. Four people can drive to the golf course and not get COVID but, if they play in a foursome, they will. If I go to Walmart, I won’t get COVID but, if I go to church, I will. Murderers are released from custody while small business owners are threatened with arrest if they have the audacity to attempt to feed their families.
These are just a few of examples of rules, regulations and consequences that are arbitrary, capricious, and completely devoid of anything even remotely approaching common sense.
State’s attorneys in this state, county sheriffs, mayors, city councils and county boards have openly and publicly defied these orders followed by threats to withhold funding and revocation of necessary licenses and certifications unless you obey.
Our economy is shut down because of a flu virus with a 98 percent plus survival rate. Doctors and experts say different things weekly. The defendant cites models in his opposition. The only thing experts will agree on is that all models are wrong and some are useful. The Centers for Disease Control now says the virus is not easily spread on surfaces.
The defendant in this case orders you to stay home and pronounces that, if you leave the state, you are putting people in danger, but his family members traveled to Florida and Wisconsin because he deems such travel essential. One initial rationale why the rules don’t apply to him is that his family farm had animals that needed fed. Try selling that argument to farmers who have had to slaughter their herds because of disruption in the supply chain.
When laws do not apply to those who make them, people are not being governed, they are being ruled. Make no mistake, these executive orders are not laws. They are royal decrees. Illinois citizens are not being governed, they are being ruled. The last time I checked Illinois citizens are also Americans and Americans don’t get ruled. The last time a monarch tried to rule Americans, a shot was fired that was heard around the world. That day led to the birth of a nation consensually governed based upon a document which ensures that on this day in this, any American courtroom tyrannical despotism will always lose and liberty, freedom and the constitution will always win.”
Well, this made my day. It is a condensed exposition of the modern madness that has become the “permanent emergency” craze. In the US, this is driven by the Anti-Trump brigades, hoping that the misery will work against Trump in November. Elsewhere, it is simply lack of manliness, as millions of adult males accept to be kept at a very short leash by a nanny-mentality that can only emerge in a Country that thinks hat there is nothing wrong with being, as they say, gay.
Italy is now requesting the “services” of thousands of Karens to snitch on their own neighbours. This is nothing to do with Trump. This is the result of living near the petticoat of one’s mother for too long.
When people are being ruled, instead of governed, they need to share a part of the blame, too.
This is, apparently, what a “working group” for the Church in Scotland thinks.
It beggars belief.
People went to Mass during the Black Plague, during the world wars. They went to Mass under the bombs. They went to Mass in churches that had no roof, in the bitter cold. Now this bunch of girls want to be exempted from work until they are totally and completely assured that they are safe? They are stating it very clearly. At some point, they will make them reopen the churches. But work? Thanks, but no, thanks.
Please don’t tell me that it is to protect the faithful. Have they asked the faithful?
I think I will develop a very strong allergy to donations to the NO Church.
Then I will say that I will be glad to resume my donations, when a vaccine against my allergy is found.
This, I would say, is for everybody’s safety.
My allergy is very infectious, you know.
Finally, finally, FINALLY, some Bishops remember that they are our shepherds, and start acting as Catholics.
The Bishops of Minnesota have decided to defy the orders of the local authorities and allow masses with attendance limited to one third of the usual capacity, rather than the absurd 10 people limit of their own earthly masters.
The quote below is such common sense that it should not have needed to be written, ever:
“It is now permissible for an unspecified number of people to go to shopping malls and enter stores, so long as no more than 50 percent of the occupancy capacity is reached. Big-box stores have hundreds of people inside at any one time, and the number of goods that are being handled and distributed in one store by many people—stock staff, customers, cashiers—is astounding. Workers are present for many hours per day, often in close proximity. There is no state mandate that customers wear masks in those malls or stores, wash their hands consistently, or follow any specific cleaning protocol,” the bishops wrote.
“An order that sweeps so broadly that it prohibits, for example, a gathering of 11 people in a Cathedral with a seating capacity of several thousand defies reason”
“In these circumstances, and given the well-researched protocols that we have proposed (and that are being followed successfully elsewhere in our nation) how can reason require us any longer to keep our faithful from the Eucharist?”
“full emergency until we are sure that no one dies E.V.E.R. A.G.A.I.N.!!!
And it came to pass that yours truly, like everyone living in England (other parts of the UK are still in lockdown, at least officially), was able to actually get out, jump on his car and have a stroll where he pleases without fear of being harassed by the police.
Amazing, how easily freedom can be lost in the short term; but.. can it?
Amazing, too, how resilient people are, and how unwilling to be brainwashed by the Technodictatorship supported by cowardly Politicians.
You look around you, and you see a couple of interesting things.
- People really have had enough. Traffic is, if not normal, certainly approaching normality at least outside of rush hours. There are a lot people clearly strolling around merely in order to be strolling around.
- There is no trace of enforcement. I have seen, pretty much everywhere, people gathering in violation of the social distancing rules. I commend their behaviour. Mind, they seem to steer clear of people they don’t know. But among groups of friends, it’s business as usual at least on the street (try to find a decent pub for seating!).
- Only a minority of people wear masks. Perhaps it’s the warm weather, perhaps it’s how unpleasant they are to wear, perhaps it’s a reaction to the asphyxiating tyranny of the Nazi Nannies; but an awful, awful lot of people clearly do not want anything to do with masks, at least when on the street, buying groceries, etc.
- Those with the most refreshing behaviour are the youth. Groups of teenagers walking together at 8,10,12 at a time without any care for social distancing and not caring a straw for the police, it makes this old heart rejoice.
Suppressing liberties is not easy. Particularly so, when this comes together with widespread economic damage. People don’t give up elementary freedoms because some technocrat tell them so and the PM is too much of a wuss to actually make some sensible decision. They might comply for some weeks, if persuaded that it is absolutely necessary; but this kind of fish will start to stink pretty strongly, pretty fast. The youth seem to be the leading edge. Whether 10 or 17, White of Minority, boy or girl, no one really cares a straw.
Let us hope it continues this way, and the general social distancing madness (including the closure of pubs, restaurants, entertainment venues etc) ends because of the silent rebellion of the sensible, hard-working, tax-paying people.
If we wait for Boris, obscure petty tyrants will run us all for who knows how long.
Cardinal Cupich has, as we know, really been outdoing himself. I have read a very good rebuttal to his nonsense.
The linked article is here.
The mean quote is this one:
With the stroke of a pen, Cardinal Cupich has blithely yielded the Authority of the Church and subjugated the primacy of her worship to laws of man which are being successfully challenged by other denominations. In doing so, he replaces what has been heroically defended for thousands of years with the absurd perception that the Mass and the Sacraments are less necessary and more potentially dangerous than grocery stores, gas stations, hardware stores, take-out restaurants, laundries, the postal service, and construction trades,
This states very beautifully what I have maintained in a number of posts: our alleged shepherds have become so sold to the laws of man, so utterly oblivious of the value and, well, sacredness of the Sacraments, that they find the virus a wonderful occasion to show how much they are part of the world, sold to its virtue-signalling, and actually better than us, backward Catholics.
Another good quote:
the government is not the one forcing a certification process on our churches. Cardinal Cupich has taken this upon himself,
Unbelievable, but true. Like the gayest fool of all, Cardinal Cupich takes it on himself to go beyond what the local regulations, and his own Bishops’ Conference, state, and decides to embark in a petty tyrant crusade, in order for the world to see how Catholicism-free he has become, and how sold he is to those who hate the Church.
The limit of 10 people to Mass is clearly of Satan. It is just a way to keep the churches factually closed, and the access to the sacraments denied, whilst a flimsy pretence of keeping them, formally, “open” allows to try to avoid criticism.
Well, it makes sense. If you were, say, a Satanist, and were in charge of the decision whether to reopen the churches, but you know that people expect them to be reopened, what would you do? Why, to have a merely symbolic “10 people per Mass” opening would be the perfect answer, wouldn’t it? Mind, I do not say that Cardinal Cupich is, in fact, a satanist. I don’t know whether he is. What I am saying is that he has made a decision that a Satanist would find smart, and conducive to the results he wants to achieve.
Such, my friends, is the state of the Church in the early XXI century. When your Cardinals are so concerned with everything, but Christ and His Church.
Please, dear readers, do not call the chancery and if you do, pay attention how you speak to the switchboard operator on the phone, particularly if she is very saintly.
We do not want to give the Cardinal the excuse for the usual deflection.
I think I should say a word or two about the mounting controversy about the Bishop, The Trads, and The Saintly Switchboard Operator.
First things first: Bishop Stika is The Gayest Fool Of All. He is (I have already written this, but repetita iuvant) a Christ hating Bishop.
Stop for a moment and reflect on what must happen in the mind of a Bishop who goes above and beyond the already cowardly attitude of his Bishops’ conference and gives a public order to deny communion on the tongue. Really, we are talking here of stuff who would not have been believed, would have been considered an absurd, and not even funny, joke only two generations ago.
What we have here is a Bishop who self-appoints himself as the ultimate health expert and pretends to “protect” his flock from this most dangerous practice, the reception of Our Lord as this has always been practiced in the history of the Church before the Age Of Effeminacy. It really is beyond stupid, it goes into the realm of outright insult to the Sacrament. The fact that the Bishop pretends not to see it (I think he does it very well) goes to show what an irrelevance Christ has become in his eyes, and how great is his need to signal virtue and to show how very aligned he is with the current madness. What do I say, aligned? He wants to show that he is better than everybody else!
Truly, this is of Satan, and no discussion allowed.
Still, what I want to discuss today is a trick used by liberals, women, and more or less gay bishops all over the world: the deflection. The Bishop complains that the angry trads have insulted his own telephone operator, who is so saintly and has just lost her husband! What cruel Nazis these trads are!
Give me a break.
Firstly, the saintliness of the operator is nothing to do with the facts at hand, and is merely an emotional handle to make people look bad, or worse than bad. It is certainly wrong to abuse anybody on the phone who is innocent of denying communion on the tongue to faithful Catholics who actually care for Christ and the Sacraments. But this is wrong irrespective of the saintliness of the person abused. This is a deflection.
Secondly, I very much doubt that said, saintly switchboard operator said to the person or persons on the phone, “my dear Sir, can you please kindly consider that I am not only a saintly person, but have recently lost my husband?” Consequently, the sad bereavement of the saintly operator should really not be part of the conversation. This is, also, a deflection.
But the third, and most important, deflection is this: the Bishop should have addressed the matter at hand, instead of throwing mud on his critics by lamenting an episode totally unrelated to it. We all know there will always be the occasional intemperate person, and we all know this controversy is not about that.
This deflection and accusation of rudeness is, by the way, the passive aggressive stuff often seen in women: “blablablabla HE WAS RUDE!!! blablablabla”. The issue at hand is not addressed; but hey, you are supposed to lose, because you hurt her feelings.
Bishop Stika is doing exactly this; albeit, being born with, at least physically, manly attributes, he needs a saintly switchboard operator to get his desired deflection.
In my eyes, Bishop Stika should do the following:
- Get real for a moment and reflect that people who are angry at him, and perhaps even people who – wrongly, of course – abuse the saintly receptionist on the phone, do so because they love Christ, His Church and Her Sacrament vastly more than the Bishop will ever be able to understand, and his behaviour makes their blood boil.
- Get real again, grow some figurative balls to go together with the physical ones, announce urbi et orbi that he has made a mistake, and make clear that his diocese will henceforward follow the guidelines of the Bishops’ Conference, without any of that gay, virtue-signalling stuff. He lives in Kentucky, for crying out loud. There will be no liberal revolution.
But no. It had to be the effeminate “y’all are so, so, sooo rude” non-answer.
The most famous retard on the planet, Greta Thunberg, has been interviewed by CNN, desperately trying to keep the climate change hoax relevant in times in which people have real worries to deal with.
The poor girl, being intellectually challenged, went right into the involuntary trap of “science”, expressing her hope that after the Chinese Virus people will listen more to scientists and experts.
I am sorry to disappoint you, child. What is about to happen is that people will listen to “scientist and experts” less than they do now.
The Chinese Virus is a perfect example of a small cabal of non elected people thinking they have the right to run an entire planet, and trying to force said planet into the tyrannical dystopia they have decided is good for them. They saw that entire Countries reacted with moving solidarity to the request made to them to put in place difficult measures for a short while, and they thought that this meant that these populations could be run by their nose like a huge, dumb ox. It is clear now that this attempt failed miserably, and left much more people sceptical of these petty tyrants than before.
Poor Greta (though I suspect she will not stay poor for very long; not if she listens to Al Gore…) is very deluded if she thinks that this Chinese Virus mess helps her. It actually helps us against her and her tribe of deranged Enviroretards, as more and more people understand the vast lack of proportion between a limited chance of disease and virtually unlimited economic devastation and oppression of the most elementary freedoms.
When the first emergency has ended, and the economic suffering starts unfolding in all its tragic dimension, the number of those who want to scream when they hear the name “Greta” telling them how to kill their own livelihood will rapidly increase. Common sense will gain ground. More and more people will start asking themselves what sense does it make to have your freedoms and finances, and your entire life, dominated by this bunch of lunatics and by the very expensive and painful reaction to purely hypothetical and fantasised dangers.
The time of common sense is coming back rapidly, and Greta will not like it.
Look, it has already happened that the public authorities show hostility to Catholicism. In the end, the children of Fatima were detained in 1917 (August, if memory serves) exactly in order to prevent them from seeing the Blessed Virgin appearing to them!
This time, though, things are fundamentally different. It is not only that 3,500 soldiers have been mobilised, just days after the 1st May celebrations were allowed! It is that all this happens with the consent and complicity of the Bishops!
When Pius XIII becomes Pope, I hope he does not allow a single one of these world-worshipping little cowards to stay in charge. What we are witnessing is the almost complete emasculation, the almost complete (so-called) church-of-england-isation of Holy Mother Church; and truly, only Her indefectibility will save Her from the extinction to which, otherwise, this bunch of spineless homos would condemn her.
I don’t know what is next. Very probably, the Bishops applauding the arrest of those who might dare to show up, soldiers and all.
I really wouldn’t be surprised.
The Vatican Museums have announced they will reopen soon.
Masks, distances, temperature checks, the usual stuff. Nothing really bothersome considering that on the days when you have to pay to get in, the museums are not packed at all and distancing is easy peasy.
A lot can be done, even in the time of madness, to allow for a somewhat normal life. Thermometers are cheap to buy. Masks are extremely cheap and, if it’s the only way to get your structure open, so be it. But even the Vatican recognises that life must go back to some form of normality soon-ish and, actually, now.
Look, we can discuss a long time about this stuff with the masks. I have been out walking with and without mask. Most people had no mask, and it did not bother me one bit. No one coughed carelessly. Everyone behaved responsibly. It has come to the point (and it is sad to say so) that one now keeps his distance quite automatically.
Even in those Countries where it is fashionable to still be oh so concerned, the powers that be need to recognise that most activities can reopen, with some easy and sensible precaution, now.
The economy cannot stop.
Even those in charge at the Vatican Museums recognise it.
Today, the United Kingdom celebrates the 75th anniversary of VE Day, Victory in Europe in the Second World War.
How ironic that this day should be celebrated with the entire population forced to a mild version of house arrest by their own Government. It really goes to show what a fragile construct freedom is, and the many ways in which democracy can corrupt itself to the point that being in a democracy make people forget that they are supposed to live in freedom.
75 years of internal peace have led too many to forget what it that they cherish about freedom. If the elected government would order them to cry “nanananaaaanna” for the next three weeks, because experts say that it helps against obesity, or poverty, or whatever, they would probably think it very fitting and appropriate to do so.
Protect the NHS. Save lives. Scream like an idiot.
75 years later, two generations of people who were ready to die to defend their freedom are afraid to put their nose out of their home, are ready to denounce to the police those who do, and are getting very rapidly accustomed to be told what degree of freedom exactly they are actually allowed to have this week. Not because of a war. Not because of bombs. Not because of foreign invaders. No. Because of a Government too cowardly to go against the opinion of self-appointed “experts”, now conducting the most extensive exercise in techno-dictatorship of all times on a planetary scale. And it saddens me to say this, but i suspect a lot of low-income people find the idea of staying home and have their sweet doing nothing paid by the Government not unappealing at all.
If the generation of those who fought and died in the Second World War would see what bunch of effeminate nincompoops too many of their nephews have reduced themselves to, would they have considered it worth to fight and die for them?
What a sad year 2020 is becoming. Not for the tragedy of an obviously dangerous (if not anywhere near as dangerous as the hype) virus and the bereavements it caused; but for what it says about the Western populations, as the initial three weeks that could have been fairly easily absorbed are now becoming the Economic Apocalypse, with no one in this country willing to say “enough!”, and Boris choosing the easy way of doing nothing and showing himself “concerned”.
An entire Country relinquishes his freedom. Its elected representative do not dare do anything. A lot os people are happy with not having to work.
This is what their grandparents apparently fought for.
One of the most pernicious side effects of the Chinese Virus has been the sidelining of the religious experience, with the consent, complicity and active collaboration of great part of the Catholic clergy.
Punctually, the bill for this disgraceful behaviour is presented to the faithful. If Mr Pritzker, the Democratic Governor of Illinois, has his way, it will be a year before church building function normally again.
The Governor obviously hides behinds “the experts”. “Hey, it’s not me – he is almost saying -. I loathe these abortion-hating people; but I would not dare to go against them if it were dangerous for my career. However, the Catholic Church has been very zealous in approving the closure of their own churches, and the social marginalisation of the Mass for just as long as we want. Why would I not profit of such a brilliant situation as this one”?
And in truth, how has anyone expected this to go any differently? These are people who never allow a crisis to “go to waste”, and this crisis can certainly be milked for all it’s worth to help detach from the Church countless faithful; particularly after it has become clear to politicians of all colours that the Catholic clergy themselves seem intentioned to do just the same!
It’s open season on the Church, say many US Bishop. How is a Democrat Governor supposed not to shoot? Do you think someone in favour of killing babies in their mothers’ wombs will suddenly have a religious experience when he sees that the churches are closed, and his enemies locked at home?
Obviously, this poses an obvious and very unpleasant question: why would the Catholic higher echelons support their own marginalisation? The answer is, in my eyes, very saddening but also very evident.
It is because they hate Christ and His Church themselves. It is because they are either perverted, or in an illicit sexual relationship, or atheists. It is because they hate themselves for having to lie every day about their nature and their lives. Granted, the attempt to escape the contradiction by diverting the attention of their parishioners to topics like “poverty” and “social justice” may make them feel better for a while, which is why so many do it (if you want to know a priest who has lost his faith, look for a priest concerned about “social justice”). Still, by all their talk, they still know that, in the end, they are hypocritical scroungers living at the expense of an organisation they hate, but with no balls to out themselves as Church haters and seek a new life.
All these despicable individuals (starting from the Evil Clown, down to most bishops and, no doubt a great number of priests) have jumped on the Great Crisis Bandwagon, allowing them to get some relief from their duties, feel good with themselves as they pretend to “protect” their faithful, and harm an organisation they hate. They will, make no mistake, be in no hurry to get back to normality again. It’s for your safety, you know.
This crisis has shown this: that, generally speaking, our clergy has become the enemy of our religious freedom, and of our sensus catholicus before that. They want to make of Catholicism something you practice when people who don’t care a straw for Christ say it is “safe” for you to do so. They want to make the Church and the Sacrament as irrelevant for you as they are for them.
We need to wake up to this assault and denounce the bishops and priest who keeps blabbering about safety instead of doing their job.
Enough with the enemies in our midst.
In another example of the stunning arrogance of the “experts”, one of the lead guys who forced Boris Johnson’s hand “forecasting” up to a quarter of a million deaths because of Coronavirus – unless the Country enters a long-term dystopia – has now lost his government adviser job after being caught flaunting the very rules he wanted to impose on 66 million people.
The excuse is even more arrogant than the event: he “thought” he was immune.
Fine, Sherlock. I “think” I am immune, too. May I resume my normal life now?
Mind, though: the guy was made to resign because of his obvious hypocrisy. The investigation about how, and why, and based on what data, and checked by whom, a handful of people were allowed to take hostage an entire Country has not started yet, and I hope it will not be late in coming. When that investigation starts, the private motives of the individuals involved will have to be examined extremely carefully. This is the category of people most likely to be affected by all sorts of socially accepted mental diseases, from thinking that CO2 emissions are killing the planet to believing that they have the duty to “change the world” by imposing to it their own brand of madness.
As we are there, we should also know how is it possible that, in a matter so discussed, controversial and dominated by assumptions, one single (and extreme) point of view is allowed to be presented to the Government as “the view of the experts”, or as a sort of “consensus”, or at least “very prevalent opinion”. Methinks, if the Government had allowed a wider (and wiser) spectrum of opinions to flow in its decision, the outcome would not have been “your own people say 1/4 million death, so block everything NOW!”, but more like “the experts’ opinion range from a nasty flu to a very dramatic outbreak, and the Government is now called to examine the pros and cons of possible actions and make clear to the population what decisions are made, and why”.
As it is now, we are all in danger of seeing vital policy decisions being made almost obligatory (at least in the presence of average politicians) by the biases and prejudices of a very small group of people, having their own hidden and less hidden agendas and free to impose them on the population because “Government expert panel”, or “Imperial College”.
If this crisis has shown one thing, it is this: the politics has almost immediately caved in to theories and predictions that proved anywhere from exaggerated to outlandish.
Nor has this stopped: as president Trump prepares to allow the US to reopen, new “experts predictions” are now hitting the Internet, and you can be sure the Leftists will make sure to milk them for all they are worth.
My suggestion to President Trump: adopt a blood, toil, tears and sweat approach. Call the Country to fight courageously against the “invisible enemy” instead of cowering home until the Country is entirely destroyed. Tell the American people that many will die, but the Country must go on. This will take a lot of wind away from the Democrats’ sails, and they will look irresponsible to all but the Venti Latte Super Fairy Crowd.
Life must go on.
Even the hypocritical “experts” understood this.
Though, of course, they did not want to tell you.
It says here that Spain will reopen the churches as limited capacity: first one third, then one half, then full.
This says to me that the situation can be, with immediate effect, be returned to normality with the following measures: first three times the masses, then two times the masses, then… well, it would be nice to have more confession times and more masses, surely?
This is not something impossible to do. Priests don’t have to waste time with endless committees of old busybodies anymore. Surely, they can all set the time aside for one extra mass in the early morning and one extra mass after the usual morning mass? Same on Sundays? So we would have the possibility for everyone to have the same access to masses they had before, both during the week and on Sundays? What is so difficult in implementing this? Mind, all this would be done in perfect compliance with the regulations about social distancing etc; therefore, no excuse for sly politicians.. .
- What does Evil Clown think of this?
- Why does he not push for this solution everywhere?
- Why does he always talk of social justice, instead of giving to Christ what if of Christ?
For some reason I will not be holding my breath.
We shall see.
