Who Am I To Judge?

As I commented on the papal slapping episode the other day, I tried to be somewhat light in my irony against the man, as repeated observation of the video showed to me that, whilst Francis is most certainly a boor, this was an encounter of kindred souls: the behaviour of the woman being, in my book, undoubtedly and unjustifiably rude. A saintly Pope would have reacted differently. Still, try to be yanked that way at his age and I don’t know how calm you will remain.

Today’s post, however, is not about that, but about the stupidity of our times.

A Pope sabotages Catholicism every day for now almost seven years, and he gets one thousand passes from the liberal press, who want to be able to have their leftist hero. The theological abominations of this Pontificate are thoroughly ignored, and the holy farter received worldwide attention for….. things like stupidly criticising Trump for building a wall. In short, in almost seven years the msm never got even near to tell their audience what atrocious pope this cretin is. But let the man contravene the commandments of the religion of niceness, and the entire planet will be informed instantly.

This is, of course, entirely demented. Still, Francis deserves all the excrement that he had to eat, because he is part and parcel of that stupid, attention-seeking, platitude-spouting, nice-at-all-costs world that has now turned against him.

Francis does everything he can to impress the stupid masses. But being stupid, the masses will not make any distinction, fruit of sound reasoning, concerning a situation. Rather, they will look for the image, the gesture that goes around the world because it is so “new” to most (not to us: we know what a vulgar boor the man is) as to make instant conversation and gossip material.

Francis does not understand how it works, because, besides being arrogant, he is stupid. He has put himself in the hands of people who will tolerate countless heresies and blasphemies from him, but will not tolerate any offence against the religion of niceness.

You made this bed, Frankie Boy. Now you will have to lie in it.

And the exact word he said to the woman I still want to know; because whilst “bruja” is completely unwarranted, if he really said “puta” we are in real need of an intervention, like forbidding him all contact with public and journalists.

A stupid world can’t stop piling judgment on a Pope not because of countless heresies and scandals, but because of an unkind act. Can’t say I am very sad, though, and don’t think the man should be defended from the lynching now going on.

In the end, who am I to judge?

  1. I believe the Leftist, globalist, Church hating media has decided that Bergoglio is past his usefulness. If he was still of use to the globalist Left, they would have deflected and covered for his petulant and ignorant reaction to this woman. Instead they left Bergoglio out to dry. The Left media now wants Bergoglio moved off stage in favor of a similar minded secularist-materialist Cardinal, however one with charisma. Bergoglio’s bitter and hateful looking mug and his lack of any physical or mental grace is now a huge impediment to the destroy Catholicism cause.

  2. There’s so much in this to consider. It is being (for the moment) apparently reliably reported he said something benign in Spanish about “hands!”. Spanish speakers are saying they don’t hear “bruja” or “puta” or anything like that. Putting rude words in this guy’s mouth is entirely unnecessary, he’ll provide his own! Somebody wear a mike in the Vatican when he is screaming obscenities using our dear Lord and Our Lady’s name in a display so loud and violent they have to have the guards clear the building. Fact.
He may have seen this lady make the sign of the cross, which always repels demons, and turned from that. Surely it gets to be a labor, having to shake hands with all these people, but HE’S the one who decided to “walk among the smelly sheep” as he puts it. People get grabby! Perhaps he feared an encounter with a desperate Chinese person who may force him to hear what he does not want to hear, all caught on video. Inconvenient.
I do think it hurt him and he simply reacted, but why did he not reconsider and turn back.
Can you imagine being the pope and seeing people standing there with hope and excitement and maybe desperation and you just turn away and say, “that’s all”, you missed out. But to have this encounter and leave it at this ugly finality? Not turn back and maybe include security to make it as right as possible? No, he got away with it, he thought, and if no video, it would have been the end of it, as far as he’s concerned. He wouldn’t give it another thought.
But there is video, and his PR people squeezed a mea culpa out of the old turnip.
There is good in this encounter Oakes. You are 100% right about the world not caring about his bad actions for 7 years and suddenly finding some outrage in this encounter, but there have to be lots of people for whom the light just came on in a new way. Suddenly the Saint of Mercy doesn’t look so merciful, there’s no getting around that. Maybe more people will be open to hearing what we’ve all noticed for 7 long, tormenting years.

  3. For whatever it’s worth, someone who commented on an article about this on the Vox Cantoris blog, stated that he is a native Spanish speaker, and never heard Francis use either “bruja” or “puta,” and judging from his comment, he is a Francisvacantist, so I don’t think he was making excuses for him.

  4. If literally tens of thousands of your fellow country men are being rounded up and sent to concentration camps on account of a Vatican agreement with the government, then I do not think it is is a question of acting rudely, to grab hold of a hand an insist on making a plea for them. In times of necessity some reduction in public respect may be necessary, just as here on your blog, you do not cease to employ in the defense of the faith.

    • I doubt that was the intention. If that was the intention, I doubt yanking his arm in that rude way would have any effect. I would slap him in the face (after he has been deposed) rather than yanking him like that.

  5. The thing about evil is that no matter how good it tries to look, no matter how many sycophants trumpet its praises and no matter how high the pedestal it perches/lurks on… at some point its smile shows its pointy teeth and it makes it clear that it is, in fact, evil and not your granny after all.(That last a reference to Little RedRiding Hood and the big bad wolf.)
Evil simply cannot retain a bright and shiny aspect in the long run and it always shows its true dark nature.
