Two Million Pageviews

Well, there we are again.

Not much to add to what I have written on occasion of the first million pageviews, actually only on the last 3 July, and now hosted on the side bar.

If it can interest anyone, since and including October 2013 every month had more than 100,000 pageviews; last month this blog exceeded 149,000.

All this, as those of you who follow a bit regularly very soon learn, notwithstanding brutal comment moderation and a writing style possibly not made for finishing school girls.

Many thanks to all of you for your continued interest in this little effort. Whilst I am sad to say that the Russian comparison of the other post has become nearer to reality, it is heartening to know the number of brothers in arms is growing.

Providence will, as always, have everything in place.

I know I should not say so myself, but a prayer for the author of this little effort – a wretched sinner, but a sincere one – is, methinks, fully in order.

Salvation, Not The Poor, Is At The Heart Of The Gospel’s Message.

Another day, another terrifying Attila The Hun exercise. We are now informed that Francis thinks that the poor are at the heart of the Gospel.(translation in English available).

Slowly, the question whether he is a communist must be coupled to the other question whether he ever had an inkling in life of what Christianity is about.

I would say Christianity is about the redemption through the sacrifice of our Lord, who died for us to open to us the doors to Paradise; doors through which, though, we must still walk ourselves, meriting – with His grace – to go through them one day.

Nothing of this is to be found in the extremely clear-cut, blanket statement of the Pope.

You may think that this is just a way of saying, or that – for the 453th time – Francis has been misunderstood.

I answer to this: open your eyes.

How many times must Francis reduce the Christian message to pure social “apostolate”, without any reference to the Four Last Things, before you understand he is really, really not interested in them?

How long will it take before you understand that to him the social message is really the heart of the matter, and Jesus merely the marketing instrument he uses to promote it?

How many proves do you want that it is not a coincidence that Francis talks ceaselessly about the poor, whilst de facto abolishing damnation for all but a bunch of mafia members, and they too merely because it is popular to say so? When fear of hell is gone, what is the Christian message reduced to? Exactly: a social worker role, which Francis also disfigures according to his populist – simple- mind.

For Heaven’s sake: it’s in front of us. It’s happening now. It’s a bombardment. A Christianity without Christ, or better said with Christ reduced to teamster, or social worker.

Only such a person can think that the poor are at the heart of the Gospel. But mind this: if Pius X had said a similar phrase, you would know he means it in a strictly social contest. Not so in the case of Francis, because Francis doesn’t talk of anything else – at least, the parts we can understand – and conveniently forgets to teach Christianity in the process.

You could take every average butcher, baker or fruit seller from a Roman Saturday morning street market. Chances are they would all (not one, or two; all) be more fit to be Pope than this unbelievable man, disgracing himself with such a stunning frequency that there is no doubt whatsoever he has no good intentions at all of improving his ways.

Humility, my foot. Crass arrogance, that’s what it is. Arrogance that dares to use Christ as a testimonial of a socialist agenda that is nothing to do with Christ’s message, as the numerous obviously rich men we encounter in the Gospel – Nicodemus probably; Thomas, Zacchaeus, and Joseph of Arimathea certainly come to mind – abundantly prove.

But again, the scandal here is not so much the misrepresentation of Christ’s social teaching: it is the insisted, constantly repeated, ruthlessly executed removal of His fundamental message, and its replacement with those “poor” about whom he is nothing less than obsessed. He is obsessed about them with a zeal worthy of Marx and Engels, whilst he should be obsessed with the salvation of souls of all incomes and means; something that by him seems to play third violin at best, and only when a full orchestra is at play.

Let me say it once again: no, this is not “just a way of saying”.

This is how the man thinks. He shows it all the time. It is we who deceive ourselves into automatically interpreting everything he says as if he cared. He just doesn’t. To him we are all saved – apart perhaps from a very small number of very wicked people doing things he doesn’t like, and rich all of them – so Christianity qua Christianity is of no further practical use than to promote his own – very populist – concept of social justice.

This is a parody of a Pope.

If a movie with such a character had been filmed in Italy in the Sixties, allowing his character to say one third of the monstrosities Francis says in real life, the movie would have been considered highly offensive, desecrating, possibly blasphemous. If it had been filmed ten years before, it would have been censored straight on.

Now we have everything – the salvation for Atheists, the deceiving Jesus, the doubting Blessed Virgin, the slap on the wrist at most, the criticism of those who count rosaries, the promotion of homosexuals and open mockery of the critics, Judaism as an acceptable alternative to Christ, Muslims invited to hold on to their Korans, the beach ball on the altar, and all that I forget at the moment – live, and in HD Franciscolor.

It is as if Borat had been elected Pope, and we now had to look at the movie.

But it’s not a movie.

Sister Brimstone

Sister’s article evoked a certain imagery

The more I stumble upon Tablet articles, the more I wonder what on earth lets these people think they are Catholics.

Courtesy of the Pewsitter – a Catholic news aggregator run by people actually caring for orthodoxy, and infinitely better than the well-intentioned but irredeemably tame, diabetes-inducing and at times outright Pollyann-ish service of the New Advent – I have now been informed of this latest piece of utter nonsense, in which a woman who was apparently once made a religious sister fully espouses Jimmy Carter’s position in preference to the obviously backward one of… probably the most subversive Pope in history.

To read the article is an unreal experience. I wonder how many Presbyterians would ask that the Only Church “ordains” women – as if such a thing were possible at all -. But no, not only this one here might even think she is a Catholic, but she also writes – at the very end of her “bio” page – that she is a religious sister! And she does not meddle only with Catholics, either! She wants female Rabbis and Muezzins, too!

If anyone had said to my grandmother that one day religious sisters would have gone around saying that “Jesus fully embraced gender equality”, she would have asked him to not make such offensive jokes about religious sisters; obviously, though, only after having “gender equality” explained to her; a concept that Jesus allegedly “fully embraced”, but clearly no one knew anything about before a bunch of faggots and dykes decided to make a lot of noise, and an army of bleeding hearts and omega males (note to the reader: the emasculation of the Western male is at the very root of today’s “gender” madness even among non religious people) decided to espouse their “cause”.

It is sad to think that whilst people openly, publicly impugning the known Truth – a sin against the Holy Ghost – are allowed to remain Catholics in good standing, the good friars and sisters of the FFI are put under Francis’ oh so merciful steamroller. But hey, who is he not to judge them?

I wish Sister What’s-Her-Name repentance and the grace of a happy death; but – judging from both the photo and the writing – this is no spring chicken anymore, and so hardened in sin that a turnaround can be reasonably called very improbable. The woman bears such strong signs of reprobation, it is shocking and almost scary to read her. It is, in fact, nothing else than shocking to know there are people around who not only think in this way – a thought terrifying enough if you are mindful of its ultimate consequences – but have their heresies published in a media outlet with the gall to call itself Catholic.

The devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.

This here looketh like an easy prey.
