Please Pray For Father Dickson, Too!

Only hours after noticing the site of the Traditional Catholic Priest I have become aware that Fr Dickson had to retire due to health reasons. This used to be (actually, still is) one of the favourite blogs of mine; but as it always happens with me with blogs whose posts become more rare, it had fallen a bit outside of the radar screen in the last months. 

You can do much worse than visit Father’s site and let him have your words of appreciation and encouragement, and assurance of your prayers. If you don’t know him and his work believe me on my word: this is a great priest, and a great blog.

The priest will remain, albeit without a parish ministry. The blog will, I hope, remain too.

Best wishes to Father Dickson, and again prayers assured.

Bruce Jenner’s Reverse Madness

And it came to pass rumours began to circulate that Bruce Jenner realised he can fill himself with hormones, dress like a pathetic old queen and even amputate himself, but he will always be a Bruce. He would, therefore, be thinking about (in his mind) re-Brucing himself again. How this should be possible I frankly don't know, but I suspect the details are too gruesome for me to stomach. By the by, Fox News loses this link and the relevant page clicks because their page isn't appropriate for a Catholic blog.

You would think the man is starting to recover some sanity, but I suggest you wait a bit for that. The man is allegedly still oh so happy he has encouraged in others the same madness he has practiced on himself. Therefore, this one is still one for the devil, who is now clearly trying to drive him to suicide; his most probable destination anyway unless he repents and, as they say, “gets religion”.

By the way, I'd love to know if taxpayer money was involved in the Original Madness, and whether in that case more taxpayer money would be spent on this Reverse Madness. Improbable, but you never know.

If it depended on me, the thing with the bed one made would be mentioned. And no, I have no sympathy whatsoever for the man. He isn't becoming one of us. He still support the flip-flopping of one's “gender”. This is just a “flop” after the “flip”.

What stupid times we live in. This arrogant, perverted cretin belongs in the madhouse. He is made a hero instead.

Amoris Laetitia: “Withdraw”, Not “Amend”

Over 100 pro-life and pro-family leaders from all over the world leapt to their feet in applause at a meeting in Rome on Saturday after hearing a call for Pope Francis to withdraw his controversial exhortation Amoris Laetitia.

It is indicative of our times that not one bishop, not one had the guts to ask for the Apostolic Excrementation to be withdrawn. The strongest words we had from one (1) Bishop asking for it to be rewritten. But this here is the right attitude: Amoris Laetitia is wrong in its deep roots, in the very foundations of its thinking. It must go down the drain. 

Once again (as in the case, already reported, of the Veri Catholici conference) the call for orthodoxy comes from the laity whilst the clergy is silent. May the angels look on them, and ask the Lord that they be punished is a fitting way unless they repent. 

I receive occasionally links about this or that Cardinal opening his mouth for orthodoxy when it’s comfortable to do so, or when the audience agrees with what he says. Far too easy. Truth cannot be defending only in season. These whitened sepulchres do not impress us. They are silent in the bigger issues, they will not get away with talking in the lesser ones. They are sluts in red or purple, preaching virginity to girls even as they go very publicly publicly fooling around every day. Traitors. Hypocrites. Whitened sepulchres. 

The silence of the clergy is deafening. It is up to us, the laity, to defend Truth after the treason of our shepherds.

The laity is acting. Catholics will not be fooled. Those who will be fooled aren’t Catholics, have not deserved to be Catholics, and have no excuses.   

I invite all bloggers to publicise all events against Amoris Laetitiae. I also invite them to never mention a supposed “orthodox” interview of some supposed “faithful” Bishop or Cardinal without making clear that this very Bishop or Cardinal has chosen to be silent when he had to speak, and continues to be silent when he has to speak; and that, therefore, no one of them is faithful, not one, but Bishop Schneider.

The clergy has deserted. It is up to us.

State Health Care Is Evil

National Help for Satan

It is surprising – and a little disheartening – when we realise how much the modern statalist mentality has bamboozled us into believing that what is deeply wrong can actually be right, because seen as both normal and inevitable. When we have attained a solid Catholic formation we must then, if we are logical, realise that this is not the case.

Let us take health care as an example.

Most Europeans consider it fully normal that health care be a duty of the central government. This is, obviously, because they have never known any other system; and also because they have been led to believe, by the omnipresent statalist mentality, that they would die in a ditch among the indifference of the passers-by if this were not the case. Note here a fundamental trait of statalism: the godless belief in the absence of charity, mutual help, or love of neighbour. Therefore, Nanny must intervene to protect us from ourselves, in pretty much everything, at all times.

This way, charity goes out the window. Its place is taken by a mentality of forced expropriation, which then becomes good because it forces the ruthless savages to provide for each other. Similarly, but from the other end of the equation, a mentality of entitlement is formed. Most people in Europe genuinely believe that they have a right that the Country at large provides for them. No, says the Church, they haven't! Those who have more have a private duty to charitably help those who are in need; but those who are in need have no individual right to receive such help; rather, they accept with gratitude the help offered to them; help extended not because they are entitled to it, but because of love of neighbour born out of the love of God; which is, exactly, what charity means.

The difference between help provided and accepted in charity and an entitlement mentality is like the difference between day and night. Self-responsibility is rejected in favour of the demand that others be made responsible for oneself. Self-organisation is rejected in favour of self-incapacitation. Subsidiarity is ditched for statalism. The principle of entitlement opens the door to a huge confectionery, out of which the arrogantly self-entitled, willingly self-incapacitated man will try to get as much sweets and cakes as he can, by the by demanding Nanny's help once he has become obscenely obese.

There was no National Health Service in the Papal States. There were countless institutions, both religious and lay, who provided charitable work, financed by the charity of people of every class. There were societies of mutual help providing a charitable net inside a community of like minded people. There were strong, extended families providing the same net on a smaller scale. There was, finally, a deeply felt conscience that self-responsibility come first, and is the foundation of all the rest. To the one that does not want to work, you will not give anything to eat.

In Italian there is a word, or an intimation, often used to express this concept of self-responsibility, and which has no easy translation able to render all the depth of its meaning: Arrangiati! You might translate it in English with “(deal with it and) do what you have to do!”, but the genius is in saying it all with one word.

State health care is evil. It promotes the very destruction of charity and its substitution with entitlement mentality and her evil brother, Socialism. We Europeans must all make a conscious effort of re-examining institutions that seem part of our “normality” and reflect whether this normality is not – as in the case of health care it certainly is – pathology.
